Hi Folks, New 2012 Prius II owner of less than 2 weeks. This is a base unit with Display Audio only (no NAV). iPhone 4s with current updates applied. Playing music through the USB/iPod connection mostly works. My biggest issue is intermittent noise. What I'm hearing are periods of popping, skipping, crackling through the speakers. It doesn't sound like ignition noise. When playing the same tunes or podcasts using the iPhone headphones jack and Prius AUX, it plays great. Is there an issue here? Thanks for the help. Neal
When using iphone to play music through a AUX cable, do you get a lot of white noise compared to a CD?
Strange, I get a lot of white noise from my iphone 4 with an aux cables, I had a few cheap ones but even a $20 gold plated name brand one still makes white noise. Luckily once I realized I could use Bluetooth, I no longer needed cables =D
I just bought my 2012 Prius 2 a little over 2 weeks ago. Prior to that I drove a 2007 Civic Hybrid. I put a lot of miles on that car driving across Ohio. I used my iPhone 4 through an AUX connection regularly, using an inexpensive cable, never, ever experiencing any noise. I first noticed noise when I tried the USB connection in my new Prius. It's intermittent, but noticeable. So far, I've not noticed any noise using the AUX connection or using Bluetooth. Apparently few others are finding an issue, as I've seen no responses identifying similar problems. I will try an Apple white cable this trip and see if it makes a difference.
