Window defogger ?

    Hi All,

    I pick up my new Prius this afternoon and have a question. Is the front window defogger button on a timer like the rear one?

    No. Not in my 2010 Prius or other cars I've driven. Once activated the front defogger remains on until disengaged. Otherwise it would get very annoying if you were going for a long drive in rainy weather.

    Things may have changed in your version of the Prius, but I doubt it.

    The defogger works the same as any other car with ACC -- Is is blowing air at the windshield ..... it does not have a heated windshield ....some cars do.

    The rear is heated and consumes a lot of power - so it is timed

    FYI- 2012 Prius; rear defogger button also activates the (standard on all models) heated outside rear view mirrors.

    Same for a lot of years. Our 2007, as well as our 2011 have the heated mirrors too.
