Had them in my 2007 Prius but no in my 2010 model. Was wondering if anyone has added HID aftermarket and how well they work?
You are aware that it is illegal to sell HID lights to fit in cars that did not come with HID headlights in the US? If you can replace the wiring harness and reflector with a version that came stock with HIDs it is not illegal to sell that kit.
I got mine from DDM tuning. I've had the same bulbs in for over a year and the same ballasts with NO issues at ALL. Simply flawless. I love them. HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning H11 5000K No additional options. Works as in, plug and play. Best 40-50 bucks I've ever spent. EDIT: I posted this thinking it was in the GEN III forum section. Not sure if this size bulb will fit in the Prius v, but DDM Tuning is good - for me.
This entire thread should be in the Gen 3 mod, since he is inquiring about the 2010 Prius, the Prius v is a 2012.
DDM bulbs are crap. Cheap Chinese bulbs that come in random colors despite what is labeled on the box. You get what you pay for.
I added HIDs for my v. I went with the 35Watt/5000K . The bulb type for the v is H11. I also replaced the small amber lights as well with LEDs. The amber looked out of place once the HIDs went in. So far they work great.
I could if I knew exactly what to look for or how to look for it. After switching to the HIDs from the stock bulbs, I was so impressed with the change in light coverage, I havent really paid enough attention to notice any type of shadow. Do you know how to look for it?
