Looking for all weather floor mats for G3 Prius because of active lifestyle. Anyone have any recommendations or experiences? Leaning toward OEM at this point
If you can afford it, the weather tech are much better designed. I used (and still have, in a box) the OEM ones for 2 winters. They did acceptable, but I like the lip around the weather tech edge to really contain everything. However, the OEM are about half the cost, IIRC. I'd be willing to sell you my used ones if you go that route.
If they have the holes in them for the mat holders .. I wouldn't even consider them. All the slush and muck goes right out that hole and under and into your carpet. Same as the WT's. I love my Huskyliners. Wouldn't trade them for 10 sets of weathertechs. REV
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Little more detail - Live in Arizona and mostly deal with dusty shoes, soles, and rocks. Still go aftermarket and not oem?
Dust, dirt, rocks, mud, scorpions, or armadillo dudu -- you will not regret getting the Husky Liners. They fit like a glove and are easy to clean... Keith
I had the Toyota OEM mats. They do not have a rim around the top so all the dirt and water run onto the carpet. They are worthless. I now have the Weather Tech mats and I hate them. Water runs off the side and through the hole as mentioned above. The Husky mats do not have that issue. I do hear a few people complain that the Husky mats move around. I have not tested them.
The Huskys may move ... roughly about an inch forward sometimes, depending on who is driving and how they get in and out of the car. There is no way they can interfere with anything though, and if I notice it, I just move them back an inch. It's really no big deal, and they clean up like new with a little soap and water. I have front, rear, and cargo husky liners, and I'd never own anything else. The movement issue ... while it does exist ... is such a small consideration it's really not worth thinking about. They are fantastic ! My car is a year and a half old, with 26K on it, and my carpets look like they just came out of the showroom. REV
I had WeatherTechs in my previous vehicle and thought they were ok, but extremely overpriced. I didn't care for the material they were made of, which gave them a "hard" feel. I think I'll go with the Husky liners this time.
I live in the south where its hot and dry most of the year as well. If anything, it's raining. No snow or slush. I prefer oem all-weather mats in my cars because they DON'T have that lip and they just look better. A little water is not a big deal, it dries. And dirt vacuums up easily. Mainly I just like the feel of the soft grippy rubber, and the fact that they wear so much better than the oem carpet mats. And mostly because of how easy they are to clean. So I'll most likely be going with the oem mats. Now the rear hatch area... that's a different story. I want a large lip there because who knows what I might decide to haul around. So that I'll have to investigate.
