Hi guys. I am the owner of a 2007 package #6 model and I'm having the light issue. My question is should I replace the ballast, or just the bulb?
I would just change the bulb. $50 from amazon and 5 minutes of labor after you spend 30 minutes watching some youtube videos or howto's here on priuschat. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00480J4J6/ref=wms_ohs_product
And by the way: DO NOT pull the whole bumper off. Seriously. It's not that hard to do, and I have huge hands. now clearly, it helps to look at the various pictures people have posted so you know what it all looks like, but I can validate that this video is accurate, and I was able to do it just as quickly:
Thank you very much for the info. Last week I ordered what I thought was some replacement bulbs from a custom shop because he claimed he didn't have the right ones in stock. Then he wanted to charge $100 extra because he said he "had to remove the bumper!" Problem is: they weren't the correct bulbs! He ordered a conversion kit as if I didn't have HID's originally. Then he calls somebody who allegedly tells him that the price of the correct bulbs were $150, apiece! So $300 for the bulbs, $69 for the install, and an extra $100 for removing the bumper....No Thank You. Thank you PriusChat!!
