I'm looking to replace my stock stereo with an after market one that I already own. I also have all the parts needed to complete the install. What do you think a fair price for labor only should be?
Fair price for labor to install owners equipment is market based. Best solution is shop for quality and price, and it will differ considerably. Get several estimates with terms, then compare with reputation of installers. You really just have to do the foot work on this one. Good luck.
I'd guess somewhere between $50 and $100. It should take no more than two hours of shop time. Although they won't want to warranty your equipment (and rightfully so) they should warranty their install.
One place with a good reputation: galaxyautosound.com 8956 Reseda Blvd. Northridge, CA 91324 818-700-0440 I know of at least one other place in LA/OC that has been mentioned on this website but I cannot find the reference at the moment. Try searching here...
If everything works Ok, and it is a clean installation (no shortcuts), then you got a really good deal. enjoy.... Keith
You can buy an install card for around $60. That's the charge to replace an indash stereo. That doesn't include a GPS antenna, satellite antenna etc. http://www.amazon.com/InstallerNet-Stereo-eInstallCard-Delivered-Email/dp/B002H9XMR0
