Plug-in sightings

If you see a base model Clearwater Blue PIP in South County (with a Toyota of CV paper license plate) it is probably mine.
It came in March 19th, and my dealership sold it out from underneath me, I wasn't even notified until Friday that it came in on Monday and was sold to someone (not a pre-order someone)!!!! Most likely for a huge mark up price.

All I got was 2 email apologies! and they are supposedly mailing my $500 deposit check to me?
Instead of blasting the dealership online and crying about it,
I complained on priuschat like a little school girl to Erica and she (her associate) found/lined me up an exact replacement PIP and a direct phone number to follow up!!!
So the power of priuschat Prius Team to the rescue!!!!

Yep, first one yesterday ...

Sat. 3/24/12 about 4:50 PM, 880 South near Fremont Blvd (north), light blue. Tried not to distract too much but gave thumbs up ...

 

Word on the street is Toyota of El Cajon has 1 in back inside the service area waiting for its owner and I saw one yesterday in Escondido, couldn't snap a picture though as I was driving.

In September when we had the blackout I spotted a prototype one at the Vons on Scripps Poway Parkway

 

The more I read about everyone's issues here in San Diego, the happier I am that I ordered through Dianne at Carson Toyota.

I've seen 2 in the wild.

One Winter Gray Metallic Advanced at the same place I was getting my windows tinted (mine is WGM too).

And I saw another WGM exiting Tustin Ranch from the 5 South. I pulled up next to it but the driver was just staring forward with a huge grin on his face. I figure he picked up his car recently and was still marveling at the EV mode after exiting the freeway, likely in HV.

 

I saw one in my garage, just the other day!

Saw first one in Irvine, near the Spectrum the other day... Blizzard Pearl with paper plates from Longo Toyota I think. Took me a second to ID it but very cool! Mine is soon to join the OC "owner's club" when the port decides to get my car to Dianne!

Tracksyde - I saw in another thread you were at Perfect Window Tint... Sal is the best, he did my Gen II and Gen III, as well as our Sienna kid cruiser! The PIP will be over there ASAP after delivery!

 

How AWFUL, and aggregating, talk about a rotten thing to do, I hope you at least posted the name of the dealer so others can avoid them. As for telling Erica you did the right thing, and I'm glad you got your PIP.You really should go on line and rate this dealer on the WWW. This situation was in excusable.
PS: You see few Prius here in N NJ and I think mine was the first PIP on the road here

 

It was my first time there (even though I've worked a couple blocks away from him for the past forever), but yes, Sal is great. He was very concerned about my satisfaction. I felt I needed to reassure him repeatedly that I was happy . The other PiP that was there was his 3rd Prius and 3rd tint job at Sal's as well. I actually talked to Sal about redoing the tint on our Sienna. What a coincidence.

 

Had my first PiP sighting in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Guess what! It was my car!!!! I saw it on the carrier truck sitting in a big dealer parking lot in the city of Grand Prairie. I take delivery of the car tomorrow!! I was able to track the car by using Entune's vehicle locator app. I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight!

 

If you meant south O.C. then maybe it WAS yours that I saw, late this afternoon ... around 4:40PM crossing Lake Forest Drive at Portola Pkwy. Otherwise ... you are NOT alone.

Sorry to hear about other people's challenges with the dealers. Reading the threads, there are dealers in several cities who are not serving their customers appropriately. By the way, my San Diego dealer has been fine so far, so it's not all San Diego dealers!

 

I saw on of those prototype cars this afternoon on my way home from San Francisco. I wondered who would want that large decal on their car.

First one I saw was on Saturday, March 3, as we were nearing Carson Toyota, on our way to sign papers for Dianne. Turned out it was LurkAzusa stopping by the dealership in her new car. I believe she was the first person to actually drive away with one of Dianne's cars. Other than seeing a couple of others at a gathering in Simi the following Saturday, I haven't seen any on the street.

 

Saw a Winter Gray PIP with Car Pool Sticker at 414pm traveling along 405 North and exited Seal Beach Blvd!!

Must be Diane's client!!
