A few questions related to this thread: Is it possible to get a C Four without 16" tires, but still with the moonroof? The brochure lists both as O/P. I read that to be optional or available from within a package. If both only were available together, why not just have them both be P?
It's not factory installed leather. But through the dealer. It's their regular go to guy for when someone wants leather added. I don't like the squigglies on the fabric nor the two toned colors on either the Softex or fabric. So I went with just plain old dark grey leather. All one color, all in one design. I got my car from Rick Burgess at Norwalk Toyota.
no one knows what the ratios will be in terms of them being built, but technically, yes, that should be possible.
are those leather OEM part? or they just buy it from somewhere and put it on for you? $950 seems ok to me. Mine is C III with moonroof and alloy.
It looks too good to be true. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2011-T...ies&hash=item20b8cbc4b4&vxp=mtr#ht_3069wt_808
I think you're a bit confused about how "options" on cars work. Options are not something that you can install or deinstall at will; those would be accessories. The way cars are marketed and built is that there are a number of model grades which include sets of features and then, for some grades, there are additional options that can be added. These options are installed at the factory and cannot be modified or removed once the car has left the factory. Perhaps an analogy would help: consider Apple's notebook line, the Macbook Pro. The Macbook Pro comes in 3 different sizes: 13", 15", and 17". They have a total of 5 standards configurations (2 13", 2 15", and one 17"), which would be the model grades in car parlance. Now, after choosing one of these model grades, you can optionally upgrade the hard drive, RAM, etc. If you buy the computer online yourself, you can configure it however you like, with as many or as few options as you want. However, if you go into a retail store, you're stuck with whatever inventory they have on hand in that location. If they only have a 15" MBP with 8 GB of RAM instead of the standard 4 GB, you can't ask them to open up the box, take apart the computer, remove the extra RAM, and give you a corresponding discount. The same applies to cars. The moonroof and 16" wheels are options for the Four model grade. That means that they cost extra and not every Four that is built will have them. However, due to Toyota's desire to actually make money, it's likely that most of the Fours will come with at least one of those things, because Toyota can make more money by selling you a car with a moonroof than one without. Your options at this point are to shop around for cars that have no options if that's what you want. Get in touch with local dealers, put yourself down for a Four with no options. When one comes in, they should hopefully give you a call. Hope this helps! PS. Don't forget that the Four comes with 15" alloys standard.
it is 15" alloys as standard. what you can do is ask all the dealer in your area to reverse a Four with not option for you. once they have it, they will give you a call. as I see so far, most of the Four comes with option moonroof and 16 inch rim.
Based on what I see on the Build Your Toyota site, that may never happen in OP's area. Try putting in different zip codes, and find the closest area the produces the configuration you want. Seattle (98101) does not force alloy wheels on a Four, so the MSRP can be $23,990. San Jose (95101) does force those 'optional' wheels, boosting minimum MSRP to $25,140. How much of a road trip are you willing to take? Reno? Vegas?
BTW, is it recommended to get the extended warrantly for the hybrid cars? I read some threads on the dealerrater.com that saying it was useless. I bought it for my Prius 2011 because it can be very expensive if it has problems. It can lower my Prius c budget $1650 (5 years) if I do not need the extended warranty.
Whatever you do, don't get the extended through the dealer. Whether it is worth it? Accounting wise it's not beneficial for the buyer. For peace of mind? Your call. I think if you could swing a 7 or 8 year, 100-125k mile one for under $700, it may be worth it.
I believe that if you type extended warranty in the Google search at the top of each page you will find a link that sells extended warranties to PriusChat members for $1055 for 7years.
When I was buying my c I was interested in the 3 model but I didn't want the moon roof. I'm 6-3 and didn't fit. In Northern California the 3 only comes with moon roof. Southern California Toyota dealers have access to 3's w/o moon roofs. The closest dealer to N. Ca was in Bakersfield.
