Ever since the day my wife bought our Prius, I've enjoyed driving it around and generally saving tons of money on gas and such. It's been a thrill owning the car.

I've always used Premium Unleaded(or whatever the best option is) when filling up, but i decided to save even more money lately. I heard about people filling up with mixes of gasoline and 99% Isopropyl alcohol in order to increase mileage and have a cleaner-burning fuel source. With that information, it only makes sense that having only 99% Isopropyl would mean maximized mileage and eco-friendly emissions.

So with that in mind, I went to the store and stocked up on a enough for a full tank and filled it up with a hose and funnel when i got home. The alcohol was pricey, but I feel it's worth it in the long run when it comes to our planet <3 I poured the Isopropyl into my tank, and I drove around for a couple of miles, i think it was about 8-10 before i noticed something was wrong.

At one point, the car started sputtering, and i thought i smelled something burning. It's probably just the heater, though. The car would sputter and die out, and it would take a while to start back up. This is my wife's car, so i don't want to tell her something happened to it. I left it on the side of the road and took a taxi home. I told her i had taken left it at a friend's house because he wanted to try out the prius for a few days.

My buddy told me that sugar helps break down alcohol. I put a few tea spoons in my gas tank, but that hasn't helped, so i put some in the oil as well because i thought that it might help out. There was no change :(

I don't want to have to take it in for repairs because she'd probably get mad and divorce me :( we've been really rocky lately. Is this problem because of the prius itself, and the fact that it's a hybrid and not like other cars, or is it a different matter? What's wrong with the Prius, and what can i do to fix it?

Help?!?!? :( i don't want to lose my wife and prius, the car is the only place i can go where she doesn't hit me when i do bad things :(

If you have your Prius pressed flat then re inflated, that will get all the Isopropyl alcohol out. It work for drivers who have been drinking as well.
