Bought the 2 because we couldn't find a 3 in the color combination that we wanted. Navigation went in with just 140 miles on the clock so the factory radio is for sale. Would be a nice upgrade on previous generations. SOLD SOLD SOLD
I would assume it works on 2010+ as we had the toyota navigation from a 2011 installed. I cannot be 100% which is why I show the plugs from the back of the unit. Here's the navi unit I had installed: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...dvent-otopri1-installation-2010-prius-ii.html
Was the backup camera already installed or was that part of the installation? If it was part of the installation was the wire harness already in place?
The backup camera was an add on part to the Advent unit. The factory Prius 2 does not come with a backup camera. It looks very much like factory though.
Why would you want to sell the stock head unit on a 2012? I can understand 2010 or 2011 but not the 2012. The 2012 has Energy Monitor and other trip computers.
I would be interested in giving this a try in a 2011, can you do $150.00 including shipping to tropical Buffalo NY? Thnk you, Ken
Saw a pic on eBay of the back of a 2011 and it is different. I'm gonna call my dealer to see if this can fit if so I'll drop you a offer
No doubt it would physically fit. The problem is will the harness fit. Even if the main harness fits, what about other harnesses that's specifically for 2012. With those unplugged, what functions will work and what won't?
eds123 can you take more close up pictures of the plugs? Specifically the gray plug. I'm wondering if it's the plug that the vehicle speed sense wire is located in.
I'm selling the radio because we replaced it. We wanted a Prius 3 or 4 but couldn't find one in black exterior with bisque leather interior. So, they had a 2 with that option and we added the 2010-2011 Advent factory-fit radio with navigation and backup camera. The display on the dash is more than enough so we didn't care about having the same display on the radio. Here's the plugs up close:
I just sent Eds123 payment for this 2012 6.1" touchscreen radio. Ill be sure to let everyone know if this radio works out in a 2011.
The basics will work because I see the 2 lower left plugs that are universal Toyota plug. I don't know about the rest. If none of the plugs fit, the steering wheel control won't work, "CAR" info won't work, and BT wont work, USB plug won't work.
The 12 pin connector looks like it might be the same. (does anyone know what the 12 pin connector is used for in the 2011?) There is no 20 pin connector on this 2012 radio like there is on the 2011 And the 2012 panasonic radio has a differeent antenna input
I would think the 12 pin is the audio; 8 for speakers, power, ignition, ground, remote. SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 ?
oops, i was refering to the 12 pin socket in the lower row (next to the gray socket) of your 2012 oem radio as well as on the 2011 radio Based on this link : FACTORY RADIO DIRECT XM SATELLITE RADIO KIT W/ TEXT | eBay I believe it might be the SATELLITE-RADIO input. Are you still able to use your steering wheel controls on your new navigation radio?
The 2 plugs left of the gray plug are for the audio The left plug is for memory(12+), ground, acc-on, dimmer, antenna remote, front speakers. The right plug is or rear speakers.
