No I wasn't worried, because my cars still under warranty, and I didn't tell them warning came after I jumped a car. The only question the dealer asked was if I did something with the 12v battery because the switch was turned off.

Thanks. No reason to doubt you, I just would like to find out from the OP if that is the switch in question...

This is a great idea - I just had occasion this morning for such a switch, as I foolishly left my dome on (about 36 hours). The Prius has a bit of battery-saving tech built in if you leave it in ACC mode to listen to the radio (appx 1 hour auto-off) and I think also for headlights -- but this does not extend to something simple like the hard-switched dome light. Argh. I know this oversight is common in many other cars, though, so I guess it's that little bit o' fun left to keep a person on their toes :)

When the 12v dies, you lose  TRIP A & TRIP B, in addition to the radio settings. Saved were NAV settings (favorites, prior destinations, home loc, etc.) and HSI settings. So, as I feared (and is likely documented somewhere) -- trip A & B are in volatile memory, unfortunately. Note to Toyota -- it costs nothing more to push these to NV storage as the primary ODO, so why not?

Also, the small matter of not being able to open the hatch when 12v power is out. I *think* there's a workaround? but anyhoo -- time to rig up a disused power tool battery with cables for quick Pjumps. Jump packs are nice, if you can keep them fully charged.

Cool for OP no major damage! I appreciate the other experiences / opinions posted -- though I'm going with the "just don't do it".

    I was asked once,
I just told them my Prius has a 230v battery that would fry their electrics :laser::flame:
    .........they sought help elsewhere. :bolt:
