I can handle the truth... I know I'm not a very good negotiator. 2011 Prius III, no navi, carpets only Blizzard Pearl $23222 $6500 trade ('02 audi a4 3.0 quattro, mint, 76K miles) TTL $1278 Wash DC metro OTD $18k
I'd say good deal on the Prius, Idk about your trade in, that's something you have to research on, TTL is low where you're at! CA is $2000 So if you're not a good negotiator like you say you aren't, then you got lucky or the dealer REALLY wanted to move that 2011 model.
I recently bought a new '11 Gen 3 Prius, Silver, and paid $25,000.00 out the door w/0% financing. Bought it at Coleman in Northern Maryland. Used USAA buying service. Had quote from Koons Toyota, Westminster, MD of $26,324.00 OTD.
I;m in Montgomery County, MD. We need to compare notes (when we have some) about where to go for service, etc
I am also in Montgomery county. I work a few blocks from 355 Toyota but would not buy a car from them if my life dependent on it. I purchased from darcars in Frederick. It's the same company, 355 Toyota is also a darcars company. I purchased the extended service and I can take the car to any darcars dealer. The service at the 355 shop is pretty good.
I paid a little more than for my 2011 PII so you got a PIII for less that's good. My brother saw my paper work today and goes "24 grand?" (with 0% finance) I said if you think about what is under the hood of this car, the fact that that includes TTL and I couldn't built it myself for cheaper, I'd say anywhere around 23k for these cars is a great deal.
Sounds like your deal might be a little better than the one I got, but I am happy with the end results and the 0% interest makes me a happy camper.
Only way to know would have been to drive the trade into the dealer offering to sell it outright and see what they wold pay you as a straight purchase then buy your Prius on it's own. Sounds like an ok deal but if they have your trade on the lot for sale at $13,900 then maybe not.
yeah yogi that's true. but I don't like having people come to my house for selling it and I (as a woman) didn't want to go on test drives of my old car with strangers. I think it was carmax that valued it online at $6150 depending on visual inspection. I think the trade was fair, if not perfect. 2 other dealers offered 6000 (with the same OTD price on the prius) and 6200. re 355 toyota- that's actually where I got it. I submitted an internet price request and then haggled a bit. I thought they were good, but painfully SLOW. We settled on the price by noon, and I was still there about 4 pm doing stuff. Not good for impatient type A people. But I'd probably recommend them The best price I could squeeze out of Coleman toyota in Bethesda was $18k with trade with the color I wasn't that keen on, so I guess that's what I went for at 355. Silly me, I should have asked for more discount, but like I said, I'm not a good negotiator- I didn't think about all that at the time.
