Through USAA car buying service, I got a quote on 2012 Prius Four (trim 4) base package for $27863. Is this a good price or could I negotiate a better deal at the dealer? Thanks.
Here was the extent of my negotiating for my 2011 Prius 4. ME: Hey, I really love that black Prius over there. Dealer: Yep, it's nice. Just rolled in today and we'll have it sold within the week. Prius is about the only car on lot that we never mark down.
I was able to get a better price on my Prius then what I was quoted from USAA but I was looking at a 2010 that was after the 2011 models were on the lot so the dealer was motivated.
Hey there, I'm in the same boat looking for either a Prius 3 or 4 base. Here are the best quotes that I've gotten so far. I live in Silicon Valley and the best quote was from Magnusen's Toyota in Palo Alto. Pearl White $25,367 invoice -offer at $24,867.00 Prius4 available 3/19th 27,900-invoice -$27,400.00 (offer) Let me know if you can do better!
Depends on many things. Do you know the exact MSRP/Invoice for your car? It can vary depending on your color (white adds $200), any accessaries it has (in my area they mostly come with at least the basic carpet/mats pkg), destination charge and supply/demand for the prius in your area etc.
I was just quoted $27,983 + TTL for a IV with only mats and cargo net. Also I was quoted $24,800 for a III and $1295 for adding aftermarket leather (Katzkin?). These are SoCal prices. Does anyone have the rough dealer invoice for a IV? This will be a third car so I'm not in a hurry; although the right deal could send me to the dealers asap. Should I wait until closer to month's end for a better deal? Any over/unders on future incentives? Hopefully this purchase will close better than my recent mattress purchase, where two days later my mattress was on sale for 1/2 off (damn you Sit and Sleep!)
best advice I can give you is get #'s from several dealerships. I wanted to trade my wife's Benz for a prius V...one place said (after trade) like 9k, another place said $6,700. I asked the place that said 9k if they would beat $6,700 by $100 or so, and they didn't even believe me that $6,700 was for real. shop around. you never know.
I haven't done enough research on a Prius IV, but you should def hit up a dealer. If dealers can't beat it, then you can always go back to it.
Here's the breakdown in the NorCal area for a base Prius IV with carpet/mats. (I'd think it's the same in SoCal ?) MSRP(regular colors) = base + destination + mats pkg = 28,235 + 760 + 225 = $29,220 Invoice (regular colors) = 26,284 + 760 + 140 = $27,184 For Blizzard Pearl add $220 (MSRP) or $195 (Invoice) So Blizzard Pearl IV with carpet/mats only MSRP = $29,440 Invoice = $27,379 This is based on my research.
Finally purchased the 2012 Prius Four Base package w/ Classic Silver Metallic exterior and Dark Gray interior today @ 1.9% interest Total price came to $28161.00 w/o title/registration/tax. Includes... - Premium carpet mat set - Vehicle shield package (lusterizing sealant, sealant cleaner, fabric guard, rental car assistance) - Tinted windows - Door edge guards I think i did good... the MSRP was $29684.
That's $2000 something off MSRP. I was quoted $2200 and some change off MSRP on a MY12 Four order with whatever options & accessories I wanted. That's Minnesota March pricing which varies by a huge amount between stores. Mike
Just picked mine up at Manhattan Beach Toyota - ask for Dominic for $27,390 while Dianne at Carson wanted $28, 000. Prius IV blizzard pearl and grey leather no sunroof.
