I'm guessing this is a normal post for us "new" Prius owners but I just had to see how I'm faring compared to others. I've owned my 2010 Prius for about a month now and am nothing but impressed with it. A little backstory: I have a 100 mile (M-F) roundtrip work route (from Columbus, NC to downtown Greenville, SC) with a 7-8 grade difference both ways. I traded my much beloved 2009 Tacoma xCab with 77k that got 29 mpg for the slightly used Prius (2010 with 7k) and after 4 fillups/full tanks, I'm getting at the low end 55.4 and at the high end 59.3 mpg! Saving about $9 a work day. And what a fun car to drive, too. Not sure why some reviews have said it's "gutless" and boring to drive? Majority of the time I'm in ECO for the savings but with PWR selected, it simply flies. Very quick. Now if I could get the darn CD/MP3 player to random the songs on the CDs, I'd be set...
You will love it more and more every time you pass the gas pumps. I just bought my second Prius, a 2011, and love it.
Welcome to PC!~ Best Of Luck with Your New Ride. You have joined the many who put their families first. Pay for all this gas to Look Macho at the expense of my family or Get a Prius and spend the money on vacation or entertainment for the kids. You chose wisely my friend!!
Wow - that is not too bad for the Tacoma. My 2010 (traded in for my prius) was only getting about 24 on the interstate, and much, much lower around town (about 15). I don't miss anything about it now that I have the Prius - that is until I need to haul something or move something big.
Yep, loved the Tacoma but can hardly remember what it looked like inside now...! My days of relocating fish are over, I'm afraid. And dmvp - thanks for info!
Almost a month for me, and I completely agree! Every time I pass a fuel station, I look at the prices (mostly of diesel, since that's what I used to do all the time with my duramax) and shake my head. I loved my truck, but I didn't use it to it's potential (meaning I drove it for transportation, not hauling/towing). With the Prius, I feel I'm using much more to its potential. Less waste.
Yep, already tried this but thanks anyway. Close but no banana. This only works when MP3 tracks are in one big folder instead of having them in folders by artist / album, like most people would have. Poor design.
