has anyone been able to synch up their laptops to their prii? I am about to order a new G4 Powerbook and was curious.... perhaps I could just forget about getting a great bluetooth phone, settle for a not so great one, and import my contacts through my computer's bluetooth... thoughts?
With my Windows XP notebook I could not synchronze successfully (even by using the description found in this forum). We gave it a try with a powerbook and that worked immediately! Johann
I would like to transfer my contacts from my computer.... my bluetooth phone is a piece of crap (sprint.... go figure) So, anyway, how does one go about the transfer using an apple g4 powerbook? Thanks in advance!
OK I have not tried it yet. I am in a fit of pique over the Version v710. I will get a dongle and fool with it this weekend. One of the things people have learned is that each item has to be sent separately. You can not send Mr Joe Jones home 222-3333 work 333-2222 etc as a unit like any number of adress books record them. You must rebuild the entire data base for Mr Joe Jones so that each is individual as in Mr Joe Jones.home 2223333 next item Joe Jones.work 3332222. Oh you can not use the "-". Keep it simple keep it plain. Fixed it to hopfully make it clear.
I tried to do exactly this with my G4 powerbook - and I failed. Spent a couple hours in the car trying to get the decives to pair... tried to spoof the powerbook bluetooth to look like a cellphone device, but didn't have any luck. All in all, a frustrating and fruitless excercise for me. If you have better luck than myself, I'm certainly interested to hear about it (trying to transfer people with a Nokia 6230 is intolerable).
