I have a 2010 Prius and just ordered some FSport Trident 17s and some 215/45/17 tires. What springs do you guys reccomend I go with? I don't want it slammed. I'm really just looking to go 1.5" lower. Thanks.

If you can afford it go with coil overs so you can dial the drop exactly the way you want it. Pretty much every spring kit I've seen and read about drops the car less than advertised and the front never seems to go as low as advertised. That being said I've really liked the look of the cars with Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

I'm glad you've decided to F it. You have good taste. Eibach springs should do the trick for 1.5" but coils are even better like F8L said. Don't forget spacers.

I have the Eibach Pro-kit installed on my car & pretty satisfied w/ the looks & performance. That being said, it is less than a 1.5" drop, probably close to 1". If you want a lower drop, u probably want the Tein H-tech or Tanabe. Also, H&R makes springs for gen. 3 prius which I almost bought but went w/ the Eibachs because it was tried & tested by many members here:). Plus, I luved the lower front to rear rake which balanced out the higher front stance.

I went with coilovers instead of springs. I actually wanted less than an inch drop in the front and only one inch drop in the back. Coilovers will give you the options to control how low you want to go.

When you say "spacers" do you mean wheel spacers? Will the F Sport wheels not clear?

Yeah, wheel spacers. They'll clear. You just might want to consider spacers if you want a flush look.

I know the offset is -5mm from the factory prius wheels. Would a 5mm spacer suffice or should I go wider?

The Tein coil overs are supposedly better than the other choices on the market since it is easy to get service for them.

I plan to install a set of these at 50k, which is when I am planning to replace my original struts and springs anyway.

For a less expensive alternative, I would only consider the Prius Plus pkg springs.

    Pete,

Can you provide feedback on what model coilovers you have and overall comfort compared to stock. I'm potentially looking to go the same direction. Looking to do PIS batteries in the back so being height adjustable is important to me but it needs to be wife / kid approved.

I went with Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC. Overall it's been a good balance between comfort and performance. You will notice a bit firmer ride but by no mean uncomfortable. If you want even more adjustability you can go with the Sustec Pro Z40 which allows you 40-way dampening adjustment.

My wife uses this car to drive our kids around sometimes and she has no idea I had put coilovers in the car.

Tanabe NF-210 springs give a 1.5" drop and good ride characteristics.

I ended up ordering the Tein springs. They make some good stuff. I'll post pics next week when I get the wheels/tires and springs installed. Does anyone have a pic of the Lexus Fsport Tridents installed on a Prius?

    Hi Socal Pete,

I have a set of Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC coilovers sitting in my garage right now.

Any tips for the install? Did you have any camber or fit problems? Are they quiet?

Thinking about R/R them this weekend and would appreciate your input...

I just bought a 2012 Blizzard Pearl last week and had it lowered a few days after purchased. I went with Eibach Pro Kit springs because I've pretty much used Eibachs on all my cars . I like the drop & the stance of the car now. I am now on a hunt for either 17 or 18" wheels - just not quite sure what size to go with without sacrificing too much of my mpg.

Tein makes coilovers also for the Prius. Tanabe has two differnt sets of coilovers.
