Hello everyone! I bought a new Prius v about 6 weeks ago, and was wondering if anyone else had this issue: I can hear my FM radio loud and clear, even when the volume is at about 8. When I switch to AM, I can barely hear anything. It isn't static or anything, but I have to turn the volume to about 30+ to be able to hear it. Not sure if I need to get this checked out or if this is normal?? Thanks!!
Took delivery of our "v" on 3/10....AM volume is somewhat like yours... did anyone at your end figure it out...????
AM volume on mine is also very low compared to FM, iPOD, CD, and phone. I wonder if there is an internal adjustment that could be made.
Did anyone find a solution for this? I have the exact same issue. Fairly annoying when switching back and forth.
Mine was weak until I put on a longer antenna from an earlier 08 Prius. Secondly, my radio will remember the volume settings used last in that mode. I have a Aux In device that requires 55 while the XM is set around 30, both for Highway driving. I also have the automatic sound level adjust on high.
In general, AM volume and clarity will be lower and less than FM. I have the sharkfin antenna and while AM volume is lower than FM, I dont have the huge disparity you are reporting.
My 2014 PIP radio AM, surges from what sounds like a full loud digital signal to a lower volume and higher pitch. Dealer claims normal as volume changes with speed. Started claim with national.
