Hi all. Just brought home a 2012 Prius Four in winter gray metallic. Quick question. It has the nav system, and the manual seems to indicate it should have tire pressure detail on the "car" screen of the nav, but when I go there it only has consumption data. Am I missing something?
I think there is some kind of thing in the nav that will tell you to replace your tires after so many miles if that function is turned on. It is completely useless or course because you will know when your tires need replacement when you rotate them and measure the remaining tread depth. I don't know why this "feature is included". It's on page 300 of your nav manual.
According to this, if you have the nav system, yes, all tpms' will display full pressure data to your screen. http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-prius-plug-in/103349-owners-manual-pip-out-8.html#post1474208
Thanks guys. Guess I need to take it to the dealer since the screen to get the tire-specific info simply isn't there...weird.
That section of the owner's manual has an asterisk next to it, indicating "if equipped." Hopefully, yours is equipped...
The manual page above with specific tpms pressures is from the PiP nav manual, so maybe it is different from the regular car, though I can't think why it wouldn't be the same for all the upper end models.
That page is completely different from the same page number in my owner's manual and nav manual. I think the display of individual tire pressure numbers is a new thing on either the PiP or the new Nav system. I wish the older Gen3 versions had it as too. Oh well, I guess that's why they make tire pressure gauges.
I have the same car, same color, same problem. And I bought it on the same weekend. I could have sworn I saw the dealer demonstrate that Tpms screen, but I was looking at a lot of stuff that day! I'll go back to the dealer when I get a chance, but would appreciate any advise here (that's why I joined!)
My Five (no AT package) came off the ship on 3/6 so it's the latest version. Even with the Nav package I can't see the individual tire pressure. It may be part of the AT package only? Maybe someone with a very recent Five w/AT package can chime in here...
I have a lowly version 2 with display audio. I agree in the manual it suggests that hitting the car button should show an option to see the tire pressure. But I only get consumption info. All prii come with the Tpms (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), but I am not sure if we can all access the screen. I left the manual at home today, I will find the section again tonight.
So I called the dealer and they spent an entire day trying to answer it (or so they claimed). In the end, the answer is you must have the HDD package to have this feature.
I'm getting new wheels for my Prius. A few questions.. Does the TPMS automatically reset by itself? Where's a good place to purchase OEM TPMS? And what's a good price? Lexus Scion Toyota Pontiac TPMS I didn't think TPMS would be so expensive...
No it is not automatic, you reset the alarm pressure with a button under the dash by the steering column. If you install a new sensor(s) the dealer will, for a price of course, enter their numbers with the Tech Stream system. If you can reuse your old sensors they will still be programed in the system. New ones are available from a number of sources, try a Google search for Prius TPMS sensors.
I have a new 5 with ATP and I've not seen anything in the manual or fiddling with the nav that has anything with tire pressures.... Now you got me wondering..
Same with me, TomDac. There is no tire pressure info on my 2012LB/ATP. I don't think the Liftbacks got this feature, even with ATP. MrBill
