well, here are the results of fred's bicycle test for shorty the c. can you fit a bike in it. in my past test on regular prii no sweat. but this guy... SUCCESS (mostly) i just put my bike in but had to remove the bike's front wheel. just barely fit, but it does.
A month ago I bought a Prius and strongly considered the V to haul my tandem bicycle. I measured and did not think that it would fit so I stuck with the hatchback. If the V would work is would save driving my Sienna with half the mph.
sorry, it is definitely with the seats down. this is a 28inch giant model bowery, single speed. ive put straight bars on it for my comfort
Mine fits fine too. Then again, mine has a quick disconnect for the front wheel and folds in half Montague Crosstown
Yeah, but you've got an SUV cargo hauler version. I think that's longer than my LWB recumbent, and definitely longer than the trike. I've fit two mountain bikes in the back of a 'regular' Prius - front wheels off, and seats down. Good to know the c passes the bicycle test.
I can confirm your bike test, with a standard road racing bike. My frame is only 52cm, but larger frame sizes should be fine as long as the wheelbase is similar. Removed the front wheel and it goes in and out easily.
Good to know for us two wheel fans. Just a little worried about the statement I found in the Owner's Manual that mentioned a tow bar isn't recommended, even if you're just going to hang a bicycle rack off it.
Awesome! I'm a road cyclist, and as long as you take the wheels off and put the seats down, I'm sure a bike can fit in there, but some special oversized frames might need a distinct angle.
I ride a 56cm bike and stand 5'11" tall - do you think the frame can lay flat in the C without changing seat height? (Obviously I would remove the front wheel.) Thanks in advance - critical question before I purchase!
I can easily put my 58cm road bike in with the front wheel still on when the seats are down in our C. I do have to turn the front wheel so it's going vertically.
