Re: License Plates!

Last set I got took three weeks by mail from the DMV, but you deal with them all the time, so I will concede the point.

 

Yes, I was not remembering correctly. But see my post #156, where, in the interests of full disclosure, I did refer them to you for the answers to these questions.

 

You could probably get the car drop shipped just across the California border, say Arizona or Nevada, sign for it there pick it up and drive it yourself the rest of the way, probably would have to check with your state license dept. for temp tags. My guess that it's tricky, but doable.

 

Expect to pay $600 to $800 to ship from LA to TX. Balance that against the extra tax, airfare, motel, etc. if you picked up in CA. Shipping to AZ might be a compromise, if you have the time for the trip.

 

Re: License Plates!

I think Dianne meant she saved YOU a couple of months by processing the permanent license plates the way she did (I remember a Leaf friend last year complaining it was going on 2 months to get perm plates, before he could apply for his white carpool sticker).

My feeling is that DMV is slower with our CA budget cuts...???
So, it will be what it will be to get our Green Carpool stickers- at least when I Fed Exed them I have a record that they got to the DMV on Friday....

 

Yes, I understood what she meant. But in my post, I said she had saved us "at least a couple of weeks." I thought that pretty well covered it. Last plates I got, in October, I was told they would take 6-8 weeks, and they came in three. Time before that, I wasn't given a time frame, but had them in about the same time. Now I'm watching the mail for the plates and registration to arrive from the dealership. Can we please move on?

All is well! and the PiP is tucked in for the night - plugged into the wall.... (was that snoring I heard? No, just the coolant pump...)

It was a silent from the neighbors when that massive delivery truck pulled up to the house.

Today, I had a bunch of running around to do today, only 1 opportunity to recharge, and it was cold & rainy. So, there wasn't much play opportunity... just 59 MPG after 60 miles of mixed driving.

That whirring to warn pedestrians about the EV did make some sound though.

HEIJIN just docked in Long Beach.

 

It sure looked like it would dock yesterday but they must of slowed way down to get in this morning. Maybe no room to parallel park
