What are the best replacement wiper blades for our vehicles?

I did a side-by-side test of Rain-X and OEM and found the Rain-X fine but not worth the expense. I switched back to the originals. Replacing the OEM wiper insert every six months is easy, and a lot cheaper given that Rain-X doesn't sell replacement inserts.

 

You are a brave soul for purchasing auto parts from Amazon...hope they've updated their wiper matching software and that you don't have issues becuase you'll quickly learn the definition of a "black hole". I've had much better luck with the smaller speciality online stores. My fingers are crossed for you!!

 

The new ones are on the car, and seem to be working fine (it is raining today -- so, we've used them already). I used the auto part match utility, and selected the ones with the best ratings... I've bought air/cabin filters, oil filters, and a few misc items through Amazon... no trouble at all.

 

I hear ya and hopefully all is well. Amazon is usually no trouble...until you have trouble! LOL

 

Can someone tell me where to get the OEM wiper inserts online. I found them to be the best replacement but don't remember where I got the last set which lasted over 30k miles.

I am coming to the end of my Rain-X wipers and so far...they've been the best aftermarket blades I was able to find...lasting me about six to eight months. I've tried everything else and only got two or three months out of them here in NH, not garaged. Back in the day, I used to love Anco Winter blades year round, but they don't make them for the Prius driver's side unfortunately.

I went to Toyota Parts - Genuine OEM Toyota Auto Parts and Accessories and ordered the following parts:

Shipping was $12.41. I was just going to get just the wiper with refillable blades and leave it at that, but decided to order the replacement refills ahead of time as shipping didn't increase at all when adding them to the basket. Figured I'd save myself the $12 next time.

I would have ordered from Discount Auto Parts and Accessories | Brandsport.com but they had different prices all over their site for the same part...that didn't impress me very much for an e-storefront.

I get it done online at wipers123 - its takes about 5 minutes and I get the wipers in 3 days. The maximum performance trico neoforms last me about 2 years with no noise and no streaking. Great prices...especially on the 26" drivers side wiper. Not a big fan of refill inserts since WI winters are tough on wiper blades - prefer just to swap out the whole wiper blade.

 

I tried those Trico Neoforms and they didn't last longer than a month or two. I was really surprised I didn't get more life out of those ones. You've got more severe winter weather than we do here in NH most times...so I'm shocked you got two years out of yours. Do you garage your car?

 

Yeah, both of my vehicles are garaged. I see you had problems with the rainx latitudes, as did I but my problems were immediate due to stiffness and lousy adapter. As far as the neoforms, pretty much everyone in my family use them and we're all happy. I have a buddy with an F-150 who keeps it outside 24x7x365 and he's also satisfied for a couple of years with the neoforms - swears by them.

 

I have tried a bunch, the best so far are Valeo wipers and Aquapel glass treatment.

 

Yeah - I use the aquapel (re-branded as Trico View) also. Its truly amazing stuff - definitely lasts the 6 months as they promise.
