    Dianne,

I ordered a PiP from a Virginia dealer (sorry, too far from you!); is there any way for me to determine what ship my car is on, if it left the port on 3/3?

    Thanks,

    Bob

My car is going to Coleman in Maryland and left Japan on 3/3. I confirmed with the dealer that the ship is CSAV RIO GREY.

You should be able to email or call your dealer and they can confirm the ship's name. I would guess you are on the same ship.

Mine was built on 2/5/2012 but the order page doesn't show it being on a ship. Should I be worried? I'm in the Northeast.

Mine was built 2/3/12 and my dealer said it arrived in Newark, NJ on Tuesday. Then 7-10 days to get to Rochester, NY.

Cross your fingers and Call your Dealer.

New Century 2 just arrived in Japan. My PIP was built on 2/28. I think it should be loaded on this ship. It will take about 2 weeks to get to Long Beach ?

If it is going to Benecia first and then Long Beach, it will take about 15 days for it to arrive in Long Beach after departing Japan. (Based on the latest trips by the Cetus Leader and the Heijin.)

I have a pip ordered from japan. I received an e-mail from toyota that the car was shipped on 2-27-2012. It is going to port in new york. Does any one think they know which transport ship/s it might be on so I can track its progress? I live in florida and have to fly to a dealer in the launch state of virginia. I want to buy plane tickets early to get a good ticket price.

The dealer confirmed that my PIP is on its way and gave me my VIN. Couldn't tell me the name of the ship but said the car should be here in 10-14 days.

Hmm, mine was built on 2/28, and have not had any updates on the website, and no emails. My spam folder is empty.

I called my dealer, they never called me back....so annoying...not like Im buying a toaster...

Hopefully, mine is on the same ship, im from the boston area as well.

My was built 2/29, and at port 3/3, might be on the Rio as well!

    Also just got this email..

John, your new Prius Plug-in is getting closer to you every day. It's now on its voyage across the high seas, and it won't be long before it reaches port. Then, it begins the last leg of its journey to you. Who knew your Plug-in was a world traveler.

Stay tuned. We'll keep you up to date on your Prius Plug-in's travels.

So it looks like the Cetus Leader has offloaded all the cars because it is heading back to Japan. Anyone know how long the cars stay at port location after being offloaded.

There does not appear to be a standard time period. It may depend partly on the number of cars in the port at the time. But Toyota does not finish the manufacturing process at the factory. At least some things which are country specific are left to the port of entry. And there are customs procedures to do. And, of course, there are accessories to install. They may not take long for each car but when there are literally thousands of cars and shipping must wait until groups of cars are ready, it is not like just what one car needs is controlling of time spent at the port.

A week to ten days is not impossible but it might be less.

It is interesting to me that even domestically produced Toyota cars pass through a port facility. This is an integral part of the production process.

if yours was built on 2/28, it should either be on my ship (3/3) or an earlier one. i wonder why you're not getting emails? when you say 'the website', are you checking the 'my order' page? i would try to contact erica at prius team. who is your dealer, copeland?
