Just picked up a prius C III black from Toyota of Orange. After going around calling every dealership which was asking for way over MSRP I found Tony who hooked me up with sticker price. Prices seem like they are going to go up soon as gas prices go up. On my short 8 mile drive home on the freeway I got a good 42 MPG while pushing it a little here and there to test it out. 8 miles isnt a very good test but im sure after a little more driving ill get up to the 45-50 mpg mark. if anyone has any questions or needs particular pictures please let me know. I had a hard time finding information on this thing prior to going to see one myself.
Please post pictures! I'm dying to see lots of photos of this car in black being it's one of two colors I'm considering. Thanks and congrats
What??? I just went to Power Toyota Irvine yesterday and they said "uhh, I don't think we're getting them for about a month." And, here you are posting that you went to Toyota of Orange and BOUGHT one!!!! If it wasn't 11pm, I would start calling around right now. I'll have to check it out tomorrow. What are your initial impressions? What did you drive before? How does the 1.5L engine perform when driving uphill? How much was the sales tax? Any other taxes or related fees? SULEV rebate or anything like that? Thanks!!!
Holy crap.. i wrote a long response and then it asked me to relog in... anyway ill try to take some pictures in the morning when the suns up. Driving impressions not bad for its 99 rated HP. Was able to go over a long uphill overpass easily. My only concern is how this effects the MPG. this is my first prius and im not sure how these conditions would effect the MPG. I paid 1868.64 in sales tax on top of the $22,748 sticker price. This price includes $225 carpet/floor mats $79 rear bumper protector $49 cargo net $760 delivery and processing fee. These options were included in pretty much every C that I saw. It seems toyota stick this in all of the first units they rolled out. My only disapointment is that moonroof didnt come on my prius C III. I'd be willing to get it done there but I didnt want to wait or pay extra.
Going uphill that long overpass explains your low mpg in part. In the opposite direction, you'll hopefully see above 50 at least. ;-) Good grief, that seems like a lotta coin for the entry level model (granted it's a III but still...).
Congratulations and I'd also love pictures of the black model. And of course initial driving impressions.
Keep in mind that this is not a basic economy car. Look at all of the standard features. The Toyota Echo never came with all that standard stuff. A $20K car is Not "entry level." That's like saying the least expensive Mercedes is an entry level car.
Yes, of course, it's an entry-level hybrid. I think my impression has been altered because of the tendency to describe the regular liftback as an econobox. *This* would fit that term much more closely.
I juuuust sold my first C (a bit under sticker) to a Priuschat member... a black III with sunroof. He's going to hit the highway here quite soon. Man, this is a nice car - they drive fantastic!
Yea for you! I am awaiting word if my moonglow is on the barge today... if not... I'm a bus rider. Sold my '06 yesterday...
not the best pictures i apologize, just taking a break from work ran outside to snap some pics before the sun goes down.
Ahhhhh FINALLY pictures of the black sand pearl :cheer2: Looks fabulous!!! My oh my, I'm gonna have a tough time picking this or red. Both look wonderful!!! Congratulations again
