I wanted to start a thread regarding the Entune system. I can answer any questions you may have, but first I need an answer myself.. I have a figured out most of the features of the Entune system except "Saved Destinations". I have searched the Entune Account Manager site and have NOT found where and how to input and save a destination. Any Ideas?
You can save locations using the phone apps, i.e. Bing and then import the to the vehicle using that Saved Dest app.
Ok got it...You have to "save the destination" WITHIN the Entune application that you downloaded on your mobile phone. For this example....I started the Entune app on my phone (htc EVO 4G), then I chose the Bing icon, then I selected Airports and selected an airport from the list and then I tapped on Save.. Now the "Saved" address appears on my list of Saved Destinations! Yeah
FYI, this thread (and others like it) can (and should) be found in the Prius v Audio and Electronics forum: Prius v Audio and Electronics - PriusChat Forums --Russ
And that's where it's been moved to. Please everyone, be aware of which sub forum is appropriate for your OP if it is not fit for the general main forum. Thanks!
I am having the hardes time with entune and text/emails. A couple days ago, I started receiving text messages though entunes, and now I am not. I the cheaper head unit. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chris
I can't get email , calendar or photo icons to light up. Tried with iPhone Bluetooth, cable , iPod nano cable, htc sensation 4g, droid charge on Verizon. I can get pandora, bing and the other apps, just not the email, calendar, and photos
How does one get email, calendar, photos and text messages? I don't have apps icons for any of those. Am I missing something? --Russ
Ora - your phone doesn't support those functions so that's why you see the icons like they are. Photos have to be on a USB stick I believe. Russ - the ATP doesn't have a calendar function. You can use a photo for a splash screen though. If your phone supports MAP then you'll see a Messages button show up on the Phone screen.
Yeah, I have ATP. I have set the splash screen photo. I see it on startup. I also set the shutdown photo, but I never see that one. When will it appear? What is MAP and how do I check if my phone supports it? I haven't seen text messages appear on any screen yet. I don't leave my display on the phone screen though.... --Russ
MAP stands for Message Access Protocol. It's the Bluetooth protocol that let's your phone pass E-Mail and SMS. Odds are you phone doesn't support it. It's more common on Blackberry phones, very very seldom on Android and not at all on iOS. You'd have to look at the spec sheet for your particular phone.
My Droid Bionic works with the messaging MAP protocol. 75% of the time reading messages 0% of the time sending replies.
I have a droid2Global which has the MAP profile, the messages button shows up, but is greyed out. When i initially tried it, the button worked, but sent an error message that the messages could not be loaded. I have a second phone without MAP and the messages button doesn't show up. any idea why this would happen?
If the icon shows up it probably is detecting the support for MAP but there is some clash when it goes to download the messages so you get an error message. That'd be my best guess.
HI - i am new here. We are looking to add a second prius to family (very recently bought the 1st! ) - I am wondering is there a list of compatible phones somewhere without jumping back and forth through hoops on Toyotas website ? (also I am still looking a a great dealer in florida , south georgia or south alabama. please reply in the dealer thread if you know of one! )
I have been looking for a list of MAP enabled phones for close to 2 months. Even when I look for a specific cell phone model, I often find conflicting info on the Internet. If you find a list of such phones please ler me/us know.
