Dealer calls: "Prius will arrive mid to late May." Place ad in paper to sell Navigator. Dealer calls weeks earlier than expected: "Prius has arrived." Driving to dealer to pick up Prius and trade Navigator.......in a big rush. Pulled over within a couple of miles of the dealership during last trip in the Navigator and issued a citation for speeding. Vehicle cop was driving? Ford Expedition.
If you get a cop chasing you for a violation in your new Prius, at least if you want to outrun them, you know you can - they'll have to stop and get gas long before you do. Not that I'm suggesting you run from the law, tag. But, you know, if the situation arises... -m.
I had the same problem regarding selling my car. I placed an ad in Auto Trader and the OC Register. Then - because I had switched colors (from Seaside to Tideland), it had put me slighrly earlier in the queue and my car had arrived 1-2 weeks sooner than expected. Ended up selling my wife's Hyundai Elantra GT to the dealer for $1.5k or so less than I was asking, because I simply ran out of time. Of course irony had it that I got calls on the car the night after I sold. The ticket does stink though :-/ Hopefully you'll see less of them in the Prius And if you do get pulled over, take comfort in the fact that your car is better than his
When I first decided to get a Prius the word went out that I'd be selling my Civic, and I had a buyer for the Civic long before the prius arrived. She was willing to wait as long as necessary. She wanted a blue Civic station wagon as badly as I wanted the Prius. I never even had to put an ad in the paper. Congrats on finally getting your Prius, Tag. You're going to love it. But you knew that already.
Sorry about the ticket, Tag. But, man! Your Prius finally made it. Congratulations and enjoy. It's a fun ride!
I think that will be the case......unless, of course, I find myself in the Prius on my way to pick up another Prius! :-0
....and thanks for the "congrats"! I've been reading posts here for months about how this car is "amazing" and "worth the wait". I found myself thinking, 'sure, what car is worth waiting 6 months for'? Well, THIS one certainly is and, unlike every car I've purchased, I didn't feel the slightest buyer's remorse when driving it home from the dealership. Plus, it actually fits in my garage!
 Yay! Congratulations Tag! I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new car. too bad about the ticket though shona
