I recently purchased a ScanGauge II and am relieved that I was able to use it to clear the red triangle error that I had. However, when I use it to view Pending Codes the ScanGauge counts up 20 or more pending codes and then restarts the count and continues. I can' t get it to stay on the screen to clear the codes.

    Any suggestions?

I had numerous codes (that were meaningless) after my inverter cooling pump went out. Is your pump working?

Also a check of the voltage of your 12 battery would be another good idea.

Are you saying you can't just delete all of the trouble codes at once?

What firmware revision is your SGII? I had something similar happen after having the dealer do some brake upgrade work. I have the 4.05 rev and ended up having to reset to default values and redo the Setup to stop the pending code cycles.

The cooling fan is working on the Enginer DC to DC converter. Is that what you meant, or is there an inverter in the Prius itself? I will check the 12V battery, but everything else seems OK. The problem is that the pending codes screen keeps counting and looping back to 1. I can't bring up the Clear Codes button.

My ScanGauge II firmware revision is 4.07.

Go to More and then toggle to Default Reset and enter and then say yes. This will reset the SGII to default values, disconnect and then reconnect to your car. You will need to re-enter your setup info and will lose your trip data.

I had this issue with mine. It is evidently one of the bugs with the 4.05+ software and still not resolved in 4.07.

I just got a new ScanGauge II in the mail yesterday. In my short time with it I have noticed the same issue with Pending Codes screen being erratic. I posted a video of it.

My ScanGauge II came with firmware v4.06 installed. The ScanGauge Firmware Upgrade webpage still references v4.02. Clearly this isn't the latest info.

I will try resetting to see if that fixes the problem. Not excited to go thru setup again.

Yes, that is exactly what happened to mine. I still am not excited about having to reset my SGII and re-enter the setup info. I have emailed Linear Logic and complained but they keep saying they are working on it but are having a hard time duplicating it

Do me a favor and go to the LinearLogic website and send an email to their technical support group. They have asked for more Prius Chat members to email them their issues so they can get more input.

Resetting the defaults cleared it up. I didn't even have to unplug it.

    Thanks

Glad that it cleared up your problem.

I did not mean physically disconnect the plug but that when you reset the defaults the SGII disconnects the communication with your vehicle computer and then reconnects again after rebooting itself.
