    FYP.

My wife's commuter, a Civic LX, doesn't have heated mirrors. She wishes she did, so she doesn't have to scrape on frozen mornings but survives.

I generally try to avoid running the rear window heater and I don't notice a problem with the mirrors.

But, I still wish they had them included in a winter package as an option. I guess they're using it as an upseller.

    Push down rear seat headrests?

Might be a dup but just noticed on the Canadian site: TOYOTA CANADA: Prius c > Gallery

Check the pic showing the rear seat - IIRC - it's the 6th picture. It has the push down headrests in all three rear seat positions. So is this only in Canada and Japan or is this a preproduction car? Some of the pics are marked "preproduction".

Re: Push down rear seat headrests?

Yeah but if you look at the images for the colour, you can see the fulsize outboard headrests. I'm wondering if there was a new law in effect that required outboard headrests to be larger so that passengers will have the benefit of minimising whiplash injury rather than the fold-away which requires the passengers to raise it up. They did the same with the 2010 Prius. The rest of the world had the L-shaped headrests (similar to the Gen 2) but NA models got the larger fold-down headrests for outboard positions.

Query: are the front head rests smaller than the back? You could swap them and get a better view out the back window.

Do the auto up power windows have the "pressure sensor" to prevent an arm or head getting snagged on the way up?

Why do you drive without a care for your fuel consumption?

I try to use enough heat to ensure that I can see and no more. I try not to waste fuel since petroleum's really useful and wasting it is killing people.

The wing mirrors are not a problem while driving, it just makes it easier that you don't have to scrape ice or wipe a fogged mirror before you leave.

nope; that was covered in another thread. no auto-jam protection on any of the windows…definitely not a car designed for kids, which isn't surprising.

Per the owner's manual page 99:

Jam protection function (driver's window only)
If an object becomes caught between the window and the window frame, window travel is stopped and the window is opened slightly.

(also, even though the liftback manual describes a garage door opener mirror, no such information is present on the website itself — the feature page only talks about an autodimming mirror but nothing about HomeLink)

Great article. I have a wonderful 2008 Yaris LB that is very cleverly thought out. The Yaris was the car that inspired the Honda Fit. I tried all the cars in my class and chose the Yaris over the Fit. My rear headrests fold into the rear seats and don't block the view like the C's. They don't need to be removed when folding the rear seat down either. The rear seat of my Yaris slides forward to expand the cargo area unlike the Fit or C. The Fit is longer so it can carry more.

MPGOMATIC'S Youtube review of the Yaris got over 50 mpg on the highway so getting better than 60 mpg for the C isn't surprising. I wish the C had kept the 2 extra dash storage compartments of the old Yaris plus the extendable sun visors and some other things but I suspect it will be my next car though. I'll wait for C owners to report in as the next few years pass. Remember Hydrogen powered cars are coming sooner than you may think. The technology has been perfected by the major manufacturers for some time now. That is the leap "big oil" lobbyists have kept at bay so far but that may change when enough people decide they want to save our dying Earth and demand it.

Which auto dimming function do you mean? Headlights? I'm also surprised to hear there's no extended sun visor. That seems like such a simple feature that I've been waiting for in a new car for years!
