title says it all, I picked up a set of touring wheels and am considering running them without the wheel covers. The dark dark dark gray is going to clash with my black gen II, and since I haven't mounted tires I think it would be easy for a shop to paint them and give them a couple coats of clear coat. obviously yellow goes well with black but it won't hide brake dust well and it would make my car look like a taxicab. I am considering lavender but want some suggestions from my fellow priuschatters.
I think that you should "paint" 'em red... :cheer2: But then I've got an obvious bias. The OEM rims are powder coated. I recommend that you do the same... That's what I did; base coat, metalflake coat, clear coat. Silver accent ring is ScotchBrite finish. No problems after 3 years. An illustration:
i already run black steel wheelies in the winter with the winter tires so I'm looking for something a little different the rest of the year so its not 12 months of black, I appreciate your thoughts though.
White would certainly look good, but of course the break dust will be a bit visible... Otherwise what about blue? Could look classy with black. or orange if you like it a bit flashy? or two tone?
