2012 Non-Nav HeadUnits have RCA for rear view camera?

    Does anyone know if the new 2012 Non-Nav Head Units have the RCA input for rear view cameras? The older models doesn't have it but hopefully the newer ones do because of next years camera requirement.

    Prius MY 2012 (EU) has the Toyota Touch headunit installed. There is a video input, but not RCA based. It uses proprietary OEM connectors and I don't know what video specs are.

    Many people are looking to buy the 2012 Prius 3 rather than the 2012 Prius 2 primarily for the backup camera. It would be great to know the feasibility and cost of installing a Toyota or aftermaket backup camera using the 6.1" screen that 2012 Prius 2 already has and that the 2012 Prius 3 and 4 use for the backup camera.

    I imagine this might save as much as $1,000 compared to upgrading to a Three primarily for the backup camera.

    That is interesting. All the UK 2012 gen3 pri will have backup camera as standard. Even the entry level T3.

    Im hoping Toyota will come out wiht some sort of rear view camera kit for the II's...

    Does anyone know if the non-nav 2012 HU can be upgraded to have Satelitte radio (XM/Sirius)?

    If so, how is this done?

    Not UK only, but generally all EU 2012 models have backup camera and Toyota Touch, audio installed, repair kit instead of spare tyre, LED DRL, fog lights. These are commnon for all three mods.

    I am with you on this! I would like the Dealers to be able to do this install with the factory cammera in the rear. Come on Toyota,HEAR US.

    Are you sure? Toyota UK site does not say what the UK 2012 will have but looking at Toyota FR, they say a spare tyre is standard. Or maybe they don't have the 2012 model on the site yet.

    Will be buying a 2012 two or three and it would be nice to know if
    we can hook up a cam with the two.

    I really want to say what ev and get the three, but hard to spend the $ extra
    for a back up cam, as we prob wont need the nav.

    Still not sure if anybody has successfully installed a back up camera on a 2012 Prius ll with a touch screen, non nav? If so please post on how to connect camera to the rear of unit.

    We do know that there is a proprietary connector for video input but no one has researched it further than that. I am still waiting for some more info!

    Bump....

    I have a '12 P2 without Nav and I'd love to add a backup camera without resorting to the rear view mirror option.

    Also, for P00kenrayray above, adding Sirius to the stock radio is easy and not too expensive. I had it installed last week at a total cost of $195 after rebate.
