Hello Everyone, I am considering a certified Prius (2008 - 2010) and wanted to know a few things... I went over many threads here and got a feeling that everyone who owns one is very happy and satisfied... however i couldn't find any reviews on a certified one and whether we it is a good buy or not... Also, i read that 2008 is genII and gen3 start from 2010... is there a significant difference and worth the extra money?
You are correct on the model years for the generations. Seilerts would argue (and I'd tend to agree) that the 09 Prius is probably the most reliable and more reliable than the '10 since the 09 was the last year of the 2nd gen and '10 was the first year of a brand new design. However, I'd say that despite steps backwards in a few spots, the 3rd gen is overall a superior car. If my 06 Prius were to get totalled and I for some reason wanted to buy a used Prius to replace it, I'd be buying a 3rd gen. (prices are old and USB isn't mentioned) There were a TON of changes on the 3rd gen and many features standard and optional on the 3rd gen that never existed on the 2nd gen.
