Have a '12 Prius III. It looks like it does not have a auto shut-off for the headlights. Will the headlights turn off via a safety type feature if I accidentally forget to manually turn off the headlights? Any harm in that? Any way to install a headlight auto shut-off?

30 seconds after turning off the car it turns off the lights

Also, don't test it by turning them on while in the ACC mode. You must turn on the headlights while the car is in the ready mode (running) for auto off to work.

I have a 2012 2 and I can change the headlight off setting via screen. I set it to zero, headlights do not turn off when you turn off the car but when opening the drivers door.

Cool to hear that it's now user-configurable. It used to be a dealer-configurable option.

If you can set the lights to automatically turn off when you open the driver's side door, would there be any reason to not just to leave the headlight knob turned to 'on' all of the time?
