Here's my ride polished up with Zaino sealant. A few weeks since last wash and still shining. Mods include: Carbon Film, PC Foglights trimmed in black, black badges, SilverVision bulbs in turn signals.
Nice! Yeah mine hasn't been cleaned for a few months either. I'm waiting for a cold snap (so everything's frozen and it's usually sunny) to wash it, otherwise it's all muddy and slushly as it is currently the case.
Stay warm up there!!! With the severe drought down here, all car washing will likely be banned this Summer for us. So, I expect the tables to be turned on the clean car comparisons.
Thanks! It has been a relatively warm winter (hence the slush and mud. It's better if it's cold then a clean car will stay clean longer). I finally caved in and did a full wash, claybar, sealant/glaze and wax (so that I can just do a quick wax "top up" in the spring)
Great that you applied the clay bar. Establishing a good foundation with the clay prep is key. You should be good all the way to the Spring.
lol I was surprised that there are less micro particles on the paint this year and I wonder if it's due to the lack of snow? (less snow = less sand and warmer temps = less airborne particles close to the surface due to less dense air??). I don't know. All I remember was that last year, there was a lot of stuff that the claybar had to take out.
That makes a lot of sense... I'd expect the sand/salt treatments to be a big factor. Was last year the first time you clayed the paint? If so, rail dust on a new car is also a common issue.
I'm not sure. I've waxed the car 4 times (summer 2010, jan 2011, july 2011 and feb 2012) I know I used the claybar on the last 3. I can't remember if I did in 2010 and if I didn't, then yes, it would've been 1.5 years' worth of particles.
Get some Optimum No Rinse rinseless car wash and laugh at the water restrictions. The stuff is amazing.
