    Hi guys,

I bought my prius 2011 in oct 2011 and already have 16K plus miles on the car...
Any one out here that have put a lot of miles on their car in a short amount of time..

the service dept guy said the free maint will run out at 25K and that will be maybe in a few more months.

that seems kinda really short time to loose coverage... should i stop using the prius and start using my other car?:(

We just purchased a 2010 Prius III that had 35,000 miles on it and we are sadly looking at putting 40 to 45k miles on it this year. When we purchased it we also bought a 6yr/60,000 mile extended warranty (not quite sure it was a good idea or not), but at the rate we are going to put the miles on it will be covered for maybe 2 to 3 years tops. I keep telling myself 60,000 miles is 60,000 miles whether it is in 1 year or 6 years.

The flip side of the equation is that we will be saving a minimum of $2,700 dollars in fuel for the year. It is hard to argue against that. I would keep driving the Prius.

I don't know how it will hold up to the abuse.

i guess I'll just have to wait and see:rolleyes:

I drive 30,000 miles a year on my 2009, and I am by no means driving the most here. 87,000 and my 3rd anniversay will be late march.

I've had my '10 since May 2010... about a year and a half. I have 40,000 miles with zero issues so far.

When I had my '05, I put 85,000 miles in 2 years. I had no non-routine maintenance. Only routine maintenance (tires, oil changes and wiper blades).

Bought my 2010 Prius in November 2010 and now have 57,000 miles on it. And will be putting 50,000 miles on it every year. This is my work vehicle and I have been very happy with it. I did not bother with the extended warranty. I just didn't feel like it was worth it. I have not had any issues with mine either. It's a Toyota and it's not going to fall apart on you like a Chevy or a ford so drive your Prius and don't worry about it:)

    1. Learn how to change the oil yourself.
    2. Change your transaxle fluid regularly, first at 30K, then at subsequent 60K intervals.
    3. Expect the car to run for several years with just oil, filters, tires, transaxle fluid, and coolant changes.
