With only 200 miles on it, mpg are steady rising...up to 42.3 with varied conditions between 25-37 degrees, flat Midwest.

With 5236 miles shown on odo my displayed MPG is 48.1 The calculated MPG is 45.31 (5236 miles and 115.565 gals). this is 75% travel on flat Fl. area and average temp. between upper 50s and upper 70s. conservative driving, but not hypermileing. Rear tire press. at 47 psi front at 48 psi. The first 25% of travel was in hilly Pa. terrain and temps in the 40s to 60s.

Identical gas milage here with about 380 miles on the car so far. We live in the Northeast so roads are mixed flat and hilly, and highway driving is about 40 percent of the driving done on this car. I am very pleased so far to say the least. I am hoping once it gets warmer out and we learn the car a bit better that we see about 46mpg. Honestly did not think we would see above 40 this soon though.:D

Well here is an update after 3 months and 3700 miles ...

    Year of vehicle: 2012
    Date: 2/10/12
    Miles driven: 3754
    Gallons Pumped: 99.2
    Hand-Calculated MPG: 37.4
    Displayed MPG: 39.9
Average Speed: in town 15-40; highway 70-75
    Tire Size / Wheel size: P205 60 R16
Tire Brand / Model: Michelin Energy Saver A/S
Tire PSI (Front / Back): 37/37
Seasonal Conditions: (please include A/C usage and temp setting if applicable) Montana in a mild winter; outdoor temps 0-40 F, heat in car set at 68-70
Commute Length: Daily use is irregular ranging from 1-20 miles. Hypermiling Techniques: I'm learning, I'm trying!!
Other: Have been tracking on fuelly.com (thanks for the link guys) and I am running about 80% highway driving. Interstate driving at 70-75 mph. Best tankful has been 42.2; all local driving on that one. Displayed MPG in the car has been running .6-3 MPG higher than hand calculations -- seems to be further off on highway road trips, closer to accurate when I am doing local "city" driving.

Wish I was doing better than 37.4 but it's Montana, road trips are what I do, and it's winter -- albeit a mild one. Hopefully mileage will improve in the summer time.

44 on the computer for my first tank! Diving is mixed 50% and temps mild in flat Jacksonville. Did not bother with the hand calc as I am not sure how full the dealer got it. In 2 weeks I will post the second tank report.

AtGEP - Welcome Prius v5 *Hive* and joining in on the War On Petrol Terrori$m…One Gallon Of Gasoline Not Consumed At A Time. Check out the e-link to my *Ten Tips Guide* in my signature, and you will put the 44 MPG you are logging in your rearview mirror. With application of the *Hybrid $mart* Pre-operative Set-Ups and Hybrid-Centric Driving Techniques discussed and presented there, you have the potential of adding 8.5± MPG to your current 44 for an EPA beating 52.5 MPG number.

I have my teepee set up on the Space Coast, three-hours south of your JAX location down I-95 at an ECC Cruise-Controlled 71 MPH *$weet $pot* Set Speed.

FWIW FYI: I am operating my new *v5-version* Petrol Warfighter *Hybrid $mart* running with the milling *Highway Herd* in Florida’s *Hybrid Friendly* warm climate temperatures in *Around Town* driving on the OEM Full-Synthetic 0w20 motor oil, only occasional HVAC A/C-Heater use, and my OEM Toyo P215/50R17 Tires Up-Pressured to 51F/50R.

A 55.9 MPG multiple-tank-fulls running fuel economy average was displayed on the MID of my v5 when I last shutdown, with 1730-miles displayed on the Odometer. The Average MPG on my Pv5 continues to creep incrementally higher. A week or so back it was displaying 55.4 MPG. I am working the HSI/MID/MFD like a Hybrid Zen Master Extraordinaire...and it is paying off with *Stellar* MPG-FE numbers that have punched through 130% of Official EPA MPG-FE, and are still climbing a bit more each day I take the Pv5 on the road.

I shall take getting 55.9 MPG and still rising delivered from a comfortable and vee-voluminous Prius v *Caddy In A Kimono* --- any day.

Well, first time I fueled up. Started with what should be a full tank at 122 on the odometer. Trip was 320.4 miles. Fuelly gives me 33.733 mpg for putting in 9.498 gals for that trip.

I know some of my MPG was dinged cause over the weekend, the tint guy had left my car running while doing the tinting job and the car kicked to the engine at least 3 times to recharge the battery (He was raising/lowering the windows I wanted tinted, all four of them) A few hills, 25% city driving. Not too bad, given about the same amount I would normally get around 251-252 for the same amount of gas. So hand calced, that would have been 26.5 mpg on the old Nissan Sentra 96.

I just had the 5,000 mile check up at the dealer yesterday. The dealer rotated my tires. My mileage went up from 43 to 49 mpg. I don't know if the dealer did something with the computer but I was pleasantly surprised about the mileage increase. Maybe after 5000 miles your car is finally broken in and your mileage goes up. I am very happy with the 49 mpg.

Just now about to do my first fill-up. 398 on the odo, I haven't actually filled it to see the gallons pumped but the display shows 39MPG. I have a 2012 Prius Vwagon Package 5 non ATP with 17" wheels. Driving in Michigan with temps in the low 30's to low teens. 50-50 highway and city driving.rolling hills

Driving is mixed, bumper to bumper traffic, city and a bit of freeway at 70-80mph.
I pretty much drive it like a normal car, just a bit more gliding when a stop is coming up.

    2nd full tank ever
    41.6 mpg-Displayed. 41 according to Fuelly.
    2012 v Two
    about 830 miles
    16" wheels 35psi front/35psi rear
Driving is mixed, around town in Hudson Valley NY with hills and traffic lights at 25-40 mph, highway between 60 and 70, and a little bit of city thrown in on weekends. Temps between 25-40 degrees and heat is always on, many times with defrosters.

Trying to learn technique and different modes for best efficiency. Up about 2mpg from first tank and very pleased. Also pleased that the computer was only off by .6 mpg this time.

Just upped cold pressure to 40 psi all around so we will see what happens...

I gassed up yesterday and had 49.0 mpg indicated and 46.1376 mpg calculated. I'm at about 3,700 miles and the weather has been in the 70s and 80s with little wind.

I'm doing a daily commute from Leland NC into Wilmington NC. About 25 miles round trip with 2/3rds. of it being city driving. Averaging around 52.2mpg at about 2000 miles.

You mean to say "coasting". I don't think Prius V can be engage in "gliding" mode.

Our magnetic gray v3 gassed up for the first time. Fuelly calculated 39.7 mpg and the car claimed 42.4. It's been between 20-40*F with 80:20 highway/city. Driving technique was as if driving a normal car doing nothing special. Next tank will attempt to alter driving habits. W

Gathered Prius v (vee) Fuel Misers – With precisely two months since taking possession of my Stealth Magnetic Gray Petrol Warfighter and driving it home from the dealer, I am holding ±0.1 MPG steady at 55.9 MPG (cumulative lifetime) at what appears to be an asymptotic 56 MPG for my particular driving profile. My “Around Town” driving consists mostly of some short couple mile daily errand running round trips of 4-6 miles to longer 12-22 mile pseudo-commute excursions, with me driving “Hybrid $mart” in Florida’s moderate “Hybrid Friendly” 60°F to 85°F temperatures winter weather, and occasional “Honey, turn on the air…I am getting hot” HVAC A/C use.

I am humping hard to keep the average MID displayed MPG at 55.9, in a lose 0.1 MPG at cold start up then having to Pseudo-Hyper-Hump hard to work throughout the trip to gain the lost 0.1 MPG back before returning to home plate. So far I have been able to reclaim this daily Cold Start induced 0.1 MPG lose through “Hybrid $mart” driving.

But, of course, Florida’s warmer HVAC A/C demanding summer temperatures will be arriving in three or four months, and then my current 55.9 MPG “Days Of Wine & Roses” will become a memory.

FWIW FYI: Let me share my observation on how much more gas the 1.8-Liter 2ZR-FXE (ZVW30) I4 (Used In 2012 Prius v Station Wagon & Prius GEN III/3G Sedan Hatchback) wants to “slurp up” at mid-range 30-ish to 50-ish speeds for “City/Around Town” driving, as compared to the more fuel-miserly 1.5-Liter 1NZ-FXE I-4 in my previous iconic GEN II/2G Prius Sedan Hatchback, and which will power the upcoming 2012 Prius c Sub-Compact 5-Door at those same “City/Around Town” speeds.

My 2007 GEN II/2G fuel-sipper WOULD NOT DROP the cumulative, long-term running fuel economy AVERAGE MPG reading displayed on the CONSUMPTION SCREEN of its MFD Monitor Screen by any viewable amount (i.e. 0.0 MPG Change), when the GEN II/2G was running in the mid-50s MPG (Cumulative Average) range, from merely from a single, brisk (iMPG = ½MPH) acceleration from a standing start up to a 50 MPH highway travel speed. Executing such an acceleration maneuver would not cause the AVERAGE MPG reading to drop or change.

On the other hand, similarly briskly accelerating (iMPG = ½MPH) in my 2012 Pv5ATP, with mid-50s “AVG MPG” being displayed on the “vee’s” MID, from the very same spot from which my 2007 GEN II/2G regularly accelerated to the exact, same target travel speed, will instantaneously drop the AVG MPG reading on the MID by “0.1 MPG.” Whereas, performing the same brisk, iMPG = ½MPH acceleration with the 1.5-Liter 1NZ-FXE I-4 powered GEN II/2G did not and would not.

ERGO: The 1.8-Liter 2ZR-FXE (ZVW30) I4 in Prius v is a tad thirstier at slower 30-ish to 50-ish “City/Around Town” driving speeds than is the 1.5-Liter 1NZ-FXE I-4 used in the GEN II/2G Prius Sedan Hatchback and in the new, upcoming Prius c Sub-Compact 5-Door. However, the 1.8-Liter 2ZR-FXE does seem to surpass the “At Speed” steady-state “Cruise Burn Rate” by using mo’ skoshi less fuel than the 1.5-Liter 1NZ-FXE I-4 when rolling down the Interstate/Freeway at 70-ish MPG highway travel speeds.
