Just purchased a Prius v 5 for $28,671 (TT&L not included in this price). No options, Classic Silver Metallic with Dark Gray interior.
Yeah I got the Prius v 5 without the Advance Tech Package, basically the base, where I'm from there wasn't a Prius v 5 with ATP in the area at the time of purchase.
WOW! That's a great price! You're well below invoice at $27K. And I thought I got a great price buying my V 5 at invoice price.
I am planning on getting a 5 without ATP and thought $28,000 would be my starting price but maybe I should start around $27,000. What do you think? Andy
$28000 is already below COST (not including incentives and what not though). Invoice is somewhere around $29000. The guy who got it for $27000 is a huge anomaly. I would say even if you get one for $28000, you're still getting an excellent deal IMO.
I dealt with two dealers today - one was the one I bought my 2010 Prius from, the other was the dealership that lost out last year (and the one that my salesperson now works at). What was interesting was the way that they presented me the sale. We have a non-toyota minivan that we are trading in. In one case I was presented with the Prius V 5 at MSRP and a great price on the trade-in. On the other case I was presented with invoice on the V and a middle of the range price on the trade-in. In the end we were able to get the second dealership to significantly beat the first on a total cost basis. How are people separating out the two parts of the deal? Was the $27,000 deal part of a trade-in and was that priced competitively? I'm pretty sure we got a decent deal paying around invoice in New England minus a minivan that's I'm glad we're not having to sell ourselves (Goodbye 19mpg!)
