I find that that the center armrest in my Gen III Prius is too low by about an inch or two to support a comfortable driving position for me. It is literally causing a pain in my neck on long trips. Has anyone had this problem and resolved it?

And while I'm at it, I find that I rest my arm on the windowsill because the door arm rest is really too low. Any solutions for this?

You're not right! lol! I have just recently been trying more and more to be aware of myself sitting with my left "cheek" up on the side padding of the seat, rather than sitting centered-up in the seat, which has my body kinda tilted toward the right side in a jacked up fashion (probably not good for my back in the long haul...), and I think I do it cause it allows my right arm to be just the few inches lower that it can rest on the center armrest... I ended up rigging the situation by put a matching bath towel, folded a few extra times, on the center armrest. So, now I can sit centered up in the seat and still rest my elbow on the armrest if I desire. So, moral of this story, I have also noticed this issue and had to come up with a less-than-ideal work-around.

Rather that wasting a good Phonebook. I would grab some foam, you determine how squeezy you need and add it to the height of the center armrest. Find some nice leather of your liking at a Fabric store. You can apply this yourself. It's such a small piece you should be able to knock it off in a weekend.
If you do, please post your results!

I had never thought about this but I tried it out today. I find the center armrest to be a perfect height for me & I'm 6'2" tall. I asked my wife & she found it perfect too & she is only 5'3" tall.

Now the door armrest is too low for both of us & I rarely use it.

10-way if you include lumbar support.

I bought some hand towels from Target that match the interior color and folded them up. My boss liked the idea and did it with his Nissan Z.

Any one know if someone makes an aftermarket center console that is like the Prius V. I like how there is a cut out for the cup holder and your still able to get into the storage.

Love these suggestions! Between the Gansta Lean to the Prissy Prius Pillow, we should all be able to find a way to achieve a comfortable driving position for the elbows on the console. :)

LeatherZ is definitely a possibility. They have the 1/4 inch cushion and for a little extra $$ they can add another 1/4 inch of cushion. Order a set for the doors and another set for the center console armrest.

A good piece of cushion and a good interior shop could custom build (just the right height) a nice fitting arm rest over the existing console.

No one mentioned that if you don't want to mess with the interior, you could always just buy a quality set of elbow pads! They should be easily customizeable, too!
