Am I the only person who doesn't like leather?

[I am attracted to the 'Advanced' trim version's 'bells and whistles' but I am turned very off by the leather/Softex...And it is expesive partially because of the leather!]

Trade seats with someone then. It isn't rocket science.

I bought the highest level of Prius in 2009 with no leather.

Seriously...If I bought the 'Advanced Trim' and someone bought the 'Standard Trim', could we exchange seats???

I'd sell them at a discounted price if I could (but I don't think it would be that simple)

When I bought my fully loaded 2005 Prius, I don't think that leather was an option (at least I don't think it was).

    Trade seats?
What about the electronics and airbags?
I know both have seat heaters.
And, Mister iRUN - your car is cloth anyway.
I'm going to tie dye it pink and purple for you. Your daughter will be thrilled.

I love leather. Both my cars have leather! And, the cars before them...
Soap and water will take out anything on leather!
(other than blue inkpen :: grumble :: )

Love leather. Cloth absorbs everything and is hard to clean and also, if you smoke (I do not !!!) it stays in the car forever. Mostly in headliners but seats too.

Factory installed leather as an option didn't start until the 06 model year. I bought the highest package 06 Prius w/o leather, aka package NL.

The package with leather from 2007 to 2009 was NW.

After 30+ years of driving, my 2010 was the first car I've owned with leather. I didn't want it but it had all the other options (mainly solar) that I was looking for. Over a year later, I've found that not only is it MUCH easier to clean and keep clean than fabric, I don't experience the "it's too cold in the winter and too hot in summer" I've always heard. In fact, I think it's actually a tad cooler in the summer (a big deal down here) but the solar vent could be a factor in that too. YMMV

I don't like leather because the smell gives me a headache. I don't like the "new car smell" either. I'm hoping the Softex seats don't have a leather-like smell since they aren't actually leather. I am looking forward to having seats that are easier to clean than the cloth seats though!

I think I remember hearing about people complaining because the Prius didn't have a leather option back then.

Now, I am the one complaining because I HAVE TO have leather, if I want the advanced technical package. Hum bug!!!

I don't like leather either. IMO, the Alcantara(-like?) fabric in the 2004 was easy to clean, comfortable, and wears well. I hope SofTex lives up to that.

Leather, like 'new car', smells fade over time as the car finishes outgassing the various chemicals used in processing the materials.

No, you're not! I do not like leather. My 2004 Prius has cloth seats that kind of look a little bit like suede, and they are fine. Well, the fabric is fine. The seats themselves are not all that great.

My Tesla has leather because I bought an orphan car that was in inventory in order to get a lower price (new orders that late in the game, half a year ago, had to be the Sport model, much more expensive). It's not bad, but it's not as nice as cloth.

One thing I dislike about Toyota is the whole "package" business. In order to get the options you want, you have to accept and pay for others you don't want. Kind of a rip-off.

Non smettere mai di volere di più. La vita sarebbe finita troppo presto, se hai smesso di volere di più!
