I logged into the Plug-in Prius page and checked my order and I see they now added more information at the bottom of the page. So if you've got an order check it out and as it is manufactured and shipped on a vessell you'll know on there too now. This should be quite helpful for those not receiving email notifications...

The info shown, "estimated production window Feb-Mar", while perhaps accurate, is not up-to-date. Dianne's info sheet has in some cases an actual estimated DAY of production. I have been watching the Toyota site and checking the order page also. It will be nice when they get into a "real time" mode for information. An earlier email from Toyota gave us this same info, but it took quite a while for it to show up on the order page.

Where do you see that usbs?! I wish, but I don't think so. The part that says it was built still doesn't even have a date yet.

Yeah, but negotiated prices are lower and in some cases people got it lower by $1000 and more. Plus we'll get $2500 back from the feds. Still makes for an expensive car on the Advanced model, not disagreeing with that, but the base isn't as bad after credits etc.

Mine is estimated to be built 2/9, available for shipping 2/10, and shipped 2/14. Key word I believe is "estimated." This is all per the info Dianne was able to provide.

I don't think so. There's no green check mark or date listed there. It doesn't even list that the manufacturing month is confirmed. :(

Yup, key is estimated, even on the dealers end. I don't think their intention is to have this above info shown in real time or have dates right now like dealer daily... It will at least give those not getting emails a way to see what is going on with their order.

I found the web page is behind the emails Toyota sent me. The web page gives a build date of Feb / Mar, but the latest email is a firm Feb.:)

Sorry gang, I tried posting this info on Friday in the Updates Sticky but it looks like the message didn't end up going through. Apologies as I meant to advise that this was up. For those that are being built in February, the online order status should be updated soon.

Your dealers may be sharing additional estimates with you, but the official info coming from Toyota's corporate offices on your Online Order will be shared via email and website updates.

    Thanks,

Thanks as always for keeping us updated Erica. I'll continue to keep and eye on both my inbox and the website for further updates.

I have given arrival estimates to everyone who's asked.
I have sent the build sheets and even provided the real VIN#'s to those whose real VINs show up (who asked!).

Anyone whose order did not finalize on day 1 (Nov 17th) is not on the first wave of cars. I am finding that order # and time of day didn't seem to matter once the build process starts. Once they know color and package and what's able to be built week to week. This is estimated, because they have yet to start shipping, but my earliest cars seem to be order #52, 1055, 1700, 371, 39, 338, 296, 932, 640.
The next arrivals, again estimated, look like #1879,1049,92,673,871,73,159,542,275,1772,212,424.

I call it a crapshoot right now. I think it's based on color, and package, and speeding everything around the country to everyone as fast as possible.

I'll comment but I'm going to bring this back to the Updates Sticky.

932??? Are you fricking kidding me? At this rate, the car will be in my driveway before I've even decided to buy it! :D My high trade in quote for my 2010 Model 5 was only $20,250. This will hands down be the stupidest economic decision of my life if I buy it. I've been dithering for months. I know it's wrong, but I just can't quite bring myself to say no. heavy sigh....

Yes, Erica. I hope you can give us more info about how the build order is arranged. I am a bit upset to see my car to be built in the last week of the first wave (2/27-3/6). My order # is 158 and was confirmed at 9:12am before a lot of people. Although my car is still in the first wave, it won't arrive here until the end of March or April. I thought toyota was saying an early confirmation reserves a spot earlier in the factory.

Of the 21 cars Dianne listed in her first two shipments only 6 are also on the spreadsheet. 5 are base cars. 1 is advanced. 2 are Winter Gray Metallic, 1 is Sea Glass Pearl, 3 are Clearwater Blue.

Your car and mine (282) are Blizzard Pearl. None of the cars on Dianne's list of early cars (which are on the spreadsheet) are Blizzard Pearl. Dianne commented that this color will be late ("to be expected"). Erica said that some cars would be delayed a week, or so.

That is about the answer that we are going to get.
