My first Prius C, expected in March SOMETIME, is a package III, moonglow color (like a crystal pearl white) with sunroof.

That's all I know right now. No idea what MSRP pricing of this car will be. Yet.

Finally! Some real information about availability. I'm glad sunroof will be an option!

Moonroof. At least that's what the manual calls it.

OK, so now we know the moonroof is an option with the Three. Just like the liftback.

Oh we know, so you can repeat anything you like. ;)

OK, actually we don't since the official reveal isn't until the 8th. :D

All we have is what's standard and what's optional from reading the manual.

But don't worry, I don't think you've let us know anything that'll make Toyota send the heavies round.

I've been in trouble before for posting something I thought was quite common knowledge so I don't take any chances anymore!

    The manual?

And, I haven't yet let you know anything here.
Just that I was allocated one, expect it in March, and what color it will be, with a sunroof (moonroof) but if I get permission to share more details, I sure will!

    See this thread:

The owner manual is available online. The manual marks optional equipment so we knew what's optional and what's not but that's it.

Well, until now we didn't know that the c3 would have a moonroof option. But it's like the liftback so it's hardly big news.

Thank you, Dianne! And moonglow sounds beautiful. Though it boggles my mind why big businesses don't streamline their operations and use the same colors across product lines. Blizzard Pearl, for example, is the flagship Prius color. Why wouldn't they bank on their namesake and use it on the C? ::shrug::

It depends on the vehicle. Blizzard Pearl isn't offered in the "lower" models such as the Yaris, Corolla or Camry except for limited editions (e.g. Camry Hybrid 50th Anniversary Edition in the US or the last 2 years of the last generation Yaris Hatchback in RS form only in Canada). Heck, the Gen 2 Prius never got Blizzard Pearl (even though it was available in Japan).

Toyota is moving the Prius upmarket (to free up space for the Prius c).

Also for all we know, Moonglow could be the replacement for BP (won't know til I see the colour). BP replaced Diamond White Pearl in the early 2000s as the premium white paint option.

Well I bet Prius c will go up to 25k with equipment packages :).
I am glad they are keeping an open mind and giving you options, usually US market doesnt get luxury options in small cars, trying to appear more affordable.

Imagine if it was $30k, all the media would say "well equipped versions are more than $30k!", heh. HS250h suffered from this perception as advanced tech package has equipment found in LS600h at the time and hence got to be quite expensive and forums were full of "IT IS 45k!!!".

Manufacturers treated subcompacts as an inconvenience they needed to meet CAFE. They didn't see a market there. But the combination of higher gas prices and younger people less interested in cars and more interested in technology means you can now you can get plenty of $20k loaded subcompacts.

The Prius c is a small Prius liftback without the following available:
    - 4-door one-touch windows (Prius 2)
    - Lumbar support (Prius 4)
    - It may also be that there's no built-in nav on the DisplayAudio stereo.
    - Advanced tech
    - Solar roof (a moon roof is available)

So, it appears the most you can get is a Three with a moon roof and heated seats. Even if a "c2" were $21k, given that an "L2" is $24k and an "L3" is $25.5k then heated seats and a moonroof would need be a $2.5k upcharge.

Oh I suppose there's always the potential of those overpriced accessories to added $1k+ to the price.

when u say the C does not come w/ "Adavanced tech", can u elaborate?
So is it safe to say that at the starting price of $23K the regular Prius
    is the better buy?
because the regular prius has 0.9% financing right now as told to me by the rep i spoke to

Moonglow and the Super white colors are the only whites available on C.
    FYI!

The Advanced technology package on the liftback.

It's a package available on the Five.

Well, there's no reason that there would be a starting price of $23k, because:
    1) The base has been announced as <$19k
    2) There isn't that much difference between the Liftback Two and the base Prius c. See my post:
    http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-c...h-prius-c-manual-available-2.html#post1453957

The list is quite long, but the items aren't substantial.

    3) Toyota are trying to sell the car to B and C segment buyers. $23k is at the top end of that segment; it's a D segment price.
    4) Toyota are trying to kill off Honda's hybrids. The Insight LX is $20,125. I expect that to be a target.

Don't believe the rep (or the hype). They will mislead you or lie to you to sell cars. They are trying to persuade you either to buy a Prius liftback now or pay for a loaded c. If they try to pile it on when the c arrives look elsewhere.

This Wednesday (8th) the details will be revealed.

It appears that the c does have it as standard in the HIGHEST model meaning it's the same NAV as a Prius III has by description:

    Display Audio w/Navigation & Entune:
    6.1" Touch-Screen, AM/FM/CD w/MP3/WMA,
6 Spkrs, SXM Radio w/90-day Trial,
HD Radio w/iTunes Tagging, Aux Jack,
    USB, Bluetooth, Adv Voice Recognition
