Does anyone know why Toyota is delivering 2012 Prii, yet you still can't configure a 2012 on their site? It still shows the 2011 configurator (not a cache issue). Everything is 2012 except the Prius and I think the Sequoia.
My guess is the 2012 hasn't hit everywhere yet and they're still trying to clear out the 2011 inventory.
Yep, maybe so. The local CarMax (new Toyota dealer) still has a dozen or so, with reduced prices. I am waiting to see the $$ for a 4 or 5 with the Plus Package.
Yeah, since it hasn't rolled out everywhere yet my guess is they are waiting for more of a nationwide rollout. I'd keep looking by the end of the week :fingers crossed:
I wrote them via their website back around January 3rd asking when the "build your Toyota" would be updated for the Prius. They told me the national intro was the middle of January. I told them my dealer didn't have specific info yet. They told me to contact my dealer. Useless.
It looks like they are trying to unload all the 2011 models. Many of the IN, IL, WI dealers have a couple of 2012 but do not mention them, they try pushing the '11. I agree the lack of info is annoying. Ask 10 different sales people and get 10 different responses. I looked at a few '12 II and IIImodels and it looks like the '12 II has Ipod, Bluetooth, touch screen radio in addition to the bumper and trim changes. I was told the III had the NAV and Entune, HD radio, SAT radio, Ipod as standard. The window stickers list the new radio/NAV unit as standard but a couple of sales people said it was a option on the III? So what is the real difference between the '12 II and III? All of the '12 III I a have seen have NAV? As of this am no dealers had '12 info even though Toyota had their new '12 product sales meeting for all the dealers.
There are hundreds of '11s in the Chicago area. Plus they are heavily discounting '12s so the '11 probably will not be a better deal unless there is $1000 rebate. And I do not think that will happen since Toyota took away the $500 cash for Feb. Plus gas prices are down so it probably is still a good time to buy a Prius now.
This evening I noticed that the "build your Toyota" site has a blank space where the 2011 link was. Perhaps the update is imminent?
Just checked it out. Okay so am I understanding this correctly? On the III and IV, the ONLY way to get navigation is to get the sunroof package?? Without the sunroof the car comes with NO navigation??
Nope - Entune is a navigation system. So the 3, 4, and 5 all have nav systems without the sunroof. Now I just need to get my dealer to knock the price down on a 3. They are quoting me at $25,700 for blizzard pearl prius 3.
Nav is standard on the three and four (no roman numerals anymore). I'm not sure it is technically part of the Entune system, though.
2012 Prius III comes standard with DVD navigation and you can add a solar roof in package for $1500 2012 Prius IV also comes with standard DVD navigation and you can add a solar roof package for $3820 which also includes an upgraded HDD Navigation system. Hope it helps!
