I'm just looking for the cheapest/easiest way to play my ipod in the car. Can I play it through bluetooth? I don't want an FM transmitter because of static and it doesn't have a tape deck
My 2006 has iPOD audio line-in in the middle console between the front seats, so that is one way. Just need a $5 patch cord from Radio Shack.
You should have a connection for your iPod in the center console. Lift the arm rest and look at the front of the console near the bottom. There will be a 12v outlet and an iPod outlet.
I have a 2006 Prius and there's no aux in port or usb port. Disappointing because I can't play my iPhone tunes...the book or somewhere says there is one, but where there should be one in the compartment there's not. I'm wondering if the back of the stereo has a "jack" I could extend out but don't know.
i was under the impression that all older prius came with a cassette deck that you can hook up a 3.5mm cassette adapter to (use Phillips to avoid the hissing sound), and newer prius came with the 3.5mm hole about a foot below the radio.
Jon, The aux audio jack / MP3 playback was not standard on all 2006 Priuses. It was only included in Option Packages #2 and higher. See my post #20 in this thread http://priuschat.com/forums/knowled...andard-optional-equipment-some-countries.html where you can download a pdf of the 2006 Prius eBrochure which will list all the standard equipment and the optional equipment included in each Option Package.
I have an '07-same situation. I bought a Audio FM Transmitter / Internet Music Adapter plus integrated Car Charger on Amazon for my Android. They have them for iPhone. This one is wired, through the charger. Works great.
