New 2012 Prius II here! (w/Pics) Whats up my Prius Peeps! :rockon: Ive been lurking on this forum for over 2 weeks now and you guys has helped me get my new 2012 Silver Prius II which was picked up on Friday! I loooove the new 2012 front fascia and tail lights. Would love to lower it but my work has a nasty driveway which will make it a hassle to enter. Question, does the top of the center console open up? Looks like theres storage on the top. I am also going to upgrade to the JDM steering wheel because I dont like the plastic stock steering wheel.

Yea, the lid, is there a compartment inside? Its really thick and hollow so I thought theres some sort of compartment inside. However the manual doesnt mention of it so its prob no.
Oh, it's annoying. There's a handle at the front of the box that you lift. But to open it you have to slide the top back and then lift the cover.
I wasnt able to slide it and the manual doesnt mention any of it so I guess the new 2012's dont have that extra compartment on the arm rest console. Thanks anyway!
According to the manual the 2012 Two console box just hinges upwards instead of sliding back. It's on page 359, section 3-4 Using the storage features - Console Box. They obviously eliminated the sliding box and have the 2nd cup holder always exposed. It doesn't say "if equipped" so it must be there.
Yes I know how to open the console box, lol. I was inquiring if there's a compartment within the compartment lid itself since its kinda thick and hollow inside. Anyway, There's no compartment on the lid but thanks anyway!
Oh, sorry. No, there's nothing there. Not in the 2010 anyway I just hope it's a bit stronger than in the 2010. If you lean on the console box cover in the 2010 it gives a bit too much.
Make a fiberglass cover with the secret compartment If it turns out dang nice, then make a bunch and earn some $$$ Mike
I know huh? Maybe a simple tray inside wouldve been nice. But I dont have time to do all that research so I'll just wait for someone else to do it, haha. On another note, Im wondering if the new 2012 Head Units have RCA input for cameras and such... Im hoping that there is one because of the new camera requirement due out next year. Too soon to know i guess since the 2012 barely made it out.
The THREE has a standard rear camera. I never looked at the TWO spec's. Hmmm, me thinks there would be a camera input. Why make a special display for the TWO? Take it apart & tell us whatcha you found :eyebrows: Mike
