The Shelby Cobra driver is having fun at a track day until something goes terribly wrong. The entire vid is 9:03 long but you can go to about 6:16 if you don't like to watch how exciting muscle cars can be. I just love how he gave hell to the guy in the Cayman.
Something felt loose and he continued to accelerate? Mmm mm mmm. Nice car though.. at least it was. Reminds me somewhat of my mechanical I had at Hallett Raceway in Tulsa where my front rotor disintegrated and I lost all breaking in a matter of seconds and was spilling brake fluids all over the track while coming close to a 90 degree turn. Scary stuff.
What race car were you driving? I also had a brake lockup at the end of turn 9 at Willow Springs just as I hit the straightaway. The car was a '64 Lotus Cortina and it was doing a beautiful 4 wheel drift (before contemporary drifting got popular). Fortunately, I was able to control the car and parked it on the side. I wish I still had that car
And he lived... But, come to think of it... if you were going to tell a story about the time you wrecked your car at the track, having done so in your Cobra makes the story a little more interesting... Certainly more than in a 510 Sedan... :bolt:
