That's because you can't afford it. Enjoy your little ride.

Your absolutely correct. My wife has had a GL450 for the last 2 years, and she's very happy with it. We've had a good track record with her and extremely happy with our local dealer service department.

In fact, I am currently driving a loaner vehicle while waiting for delivery.

Sometimes, when you need to fit the kids, sports equipment, lawn chairs, pets, groceries, luggage it's best to use a u haul truck. . J/k.

Very well said. Thank God for Electronic Stability Control, and Electronic Stability Program. And of course seat belts.

Um, my other car is a RX350 and I can most certainly afford luxury cars. Owning a Prius has no bearing on wealth and some of us came from Porsches, etc.

Even the most unreliable cars can have good track records in the first couple years. It's usually later down the years that they become problematic and expensive to maintain. I've seen it with my sister's Range Rover.

LOL! Your telling me you own a RX350? That's hilarious. If you have money, you would have gotten a true luxury sport utility vehicle in the first place. Why would you waste your money on a RX350?
    Ridiculous.

Such a feminine design, amongst other things. I hope you don't have uncontrolled acceleration on your mini lexus. And you say your not into trophy wives? haha.

Have a great day! Enjoy driving way past the speed limit.

I guess each to his/her own. I wouldn't buy a Mercedes unless it's a model w/a consistently better than average reliability, also didn't come with high maintenance costs and was a good value for the money.

I'd say there are Lexus owners who would consider Mercedes a waste of money.

If I had to choose only between a Lexus RX or a Mercedes GL450, I'd choose the RX any day, mainly due to reliability and cost. Choosing the RX450h would have the added bonus of amongst the best fuel economy in its class and all the advantages of hybrids (no useless idling at stop lights, recapturing energy that would otherwise be wasted as heat and brake dust, etc.)

I'm just not a fan of the GX460 or LX570 design. In fact, my sister replaced her Range Rover with the GX460 and is much happier with it not breaking down all the time. Like cwerdna, I'd consider the GL450 if it were actually reliable, which it's not.

If you could score a hot wife who actually makes money, she's by definition not a trophy wife.

I drive my '99 Civic on the freeways at 65. I also drive my GF's 2001 Prius on the freeways at 65. I also live in Orange County, CA btw.

Buy some of those metallic shades that you put in your car to keep the sunlight out. During these winter months, place them above your back seats so that they can easily be seen from behind. When people tailgate you, the reflections off of their headlights will be reflected back into their own eyes.
