PriusChatter NGNeer, a member so new he still has that new-registration smell, was perusing Toyota's owner site the other day and discovered that Toyota has accidentally posted the full 552-page Owner's Manual a bit early. ECO Savings: "If the price of gasoline is input, the cost of the consumed fuel according to the driven distance is displayed. If the fuel consumption comparison is set, the difference between the input fuel consumption and your vehicle's actual fuel consumption is expressed as an amount of money that was possibly saved." The MID keeps a past record of your tanks, including a screen comparing your best month's MPG. No lumbar support No reference to a navigation system at all. So from what I see Smart Key is 3 door without a 1 door option. - Great new Vehicle Proximity Notification System with no option to disable - Bad news Hard cover for rear cargo area - I liked this on my old CRX Vehicle information system expanded - Still no option to show operation information such as engine RPM, Coolant Temp, System Voltages, tire air pressure, etc.. I am guessing that in later models they may add a power mode. I do not see that as being something that could not have been added, even if it was just changing the throttle sensitivity.
Same as gen III I liked it on my old lift back. Don't like the rolly thing in the gen III, but it's not bad. You would think they would do this. It is 2012. My guess is normal is power It only has 99 horses.

Yep, my 2010 doesn't have it either, and I'm glad. I was commenting on the new ones. I'm sure bob wilson if he still was on this board would give a good rant, but I think this may be the new law.

It's interesting that the DC/DC converter is in the hot engine compartment. I would expect this unit to be near the cooler batteries. That would not only allow it to run cooler, but those long power cables from the batteries to the motor wouldn't have to carry so much current.
Also, looks like the c doesn't come with the option of adjustable lumbar support. At least, it's not shown in the manual.
If they do the same thing as Honda and turn it into part of an $1800 package. Given it seems to be 3-door SKS I'm hoping the "c 2" will forgo SKS and bundle the cruise in with more basic conveniences and comfort so it'll come in comfortably under $20,000 and the Insight LX. I hope I'm right because no cruise, no chance of buying.

Wow - with a set of standard features like that it would *really* sell well in EU. Come on, no standard split rear-seat? no one-touch up-down window lift? no rear-window wiper? rear luggage cover (you must be kidding me!)? no coat hooks (those 2 cents plastic thingys at the handles above the doors, right)?? And no cruise control standard in the US - are they really kidding me?!?! I mean, you guys *really* need it!!! No way - really... and then they put standard this stuff: iPod/USB Integration, AUX Audio Port, Bluetooth - Phone & Stereo Audio Don't tell me the choices standard/option are to save cost, because these are really nonsense... oh well, it is not on sale in EU in any case...
Center console box is optional? Split rear seat is optional? So the base model won't have 60/40 split seats? $19k base model is probably for the fleet. One trim above that should still be less than $20k.
Well, unfortunately, since I purchased a Honda Fit about a year and 1/2 ago? I can tell you many of those "options" that people are griping about that aren't standard? Weren't standard on The Fit either. I had chose to purchase the mostly cosmetic "sports" model to get cruise control, I had to buy not only the rear cover extra, but also a matt, each as paid for extra's..and in 2010? Even floormats were extra (even though they did "throw them in" ...wink, wink...) Also a decent center console was extra. Toyota generally in my opinion packages their extra's, whereas Honda makes you buy everything you want individually. I don't know what is better, but I was suprised at how much I had to decide to purchase separately, there were a lot of "Extra's" that I would define as basic to the vehicle. Actually? I think I kinda like bundled packages. At least then you don't end up sitting in a room creating a $1600 dollar list of "Extra's"...even though the end result might be the same.
Anything interesting worth mentioning in there? Is it a beltless engine with electric water pump? Does it has the exhaust recovery system? Is it 500V or 650V system? I think it is 500V like GenII because it doesn't have the power mode like GenIII.
