I am in the exact same situation. I am 31 and currently driving a 2002 Blazer. I am sick of the 17mpg around town (where all my miles are). But I refuse to give up the versatility and cargo space. (I really want a rack for my surfboards too, but I guess I can get that after market.) But I feel the same way as you. All my friends want "cool" cars and big trucks, but I am sick of wasting gas, and for at least another year, there is not another alternative to the V.
We are a family of 2, I'm 27 and my husband is 31. No kids, just a pair of greyhounds and a chinese crested. We just purchased the V five to replace a 2004 Prius touring, which replaced a 2001 Volvo V70.
62, single + a 60 lb agility dog (and looking for another one). Loved my 2006 Prius and its mileage but dogs had to travel loose in the car because it wasn't big enough to carry set-up crates. The V is the perfect dog-mobile! Lots of agility competitors drive big rigs or RV's -- but I can buy a lot of motel rooms for what I am saving on gas, even with the V rather than the smaller Prius. Like some others my age, I don't own a smart phone and have no use for a lot of the high-tech bling, bought this car for its space and fuel economy. (I'm still trying to make my peace with the navigation system, which I concede MIGHT be useful sometime, somewhere ....) anyone else out there still like old-fashioned paper maps?!?
We are 57 and 56. My wife really didn't like the looks and interior color of my 2010 Prius but I loved it so much I went down to buy a new 2011 (I put lots of miles on due to work). One look and a drive in the V and my wife fell in love with it. Now we have her color combination and both of us enjoy it.
38 & 32, just got the 2012 Prius v 3, upgraded from 2008 Prius 2. Took it on a road trip to the Central Coast from SoCal this weekend, and love it! Tons of space, smooth ride.
I am 39 with 3 kids. I am trading in my 2004 Highlander for the Prius v three. I love all the cargo room and wanted to spend less money on gas. I pick it up tomorrow and feel like an impatient kid!
Wife and I are 42 years old.. We have had BMW,Lexus,Acura and we like our Toyotas. We have a 2011 Camry Se that I love as well.
65 years. Replaced my '10 Prius. Love the extra room for all of my gear when I travel to ultra runs and cycling events. I can easily put a bike and all my other gear in with the back seats down.
