It's possible that when Danny posted the details, the info was correct and there was a decision made later to not include it on the Two. It could be any # of things (cost cutting, forced up-selling for those who want an integrated backup camera, etc.)

All 01-09 Priuses had a touchscreen LCD but the backup camera didn't even become available until 06. For those w/stripped down 06-09 Priuses, they didn't receive a backup camera either.

I think it was only the Prius package 1 in later years that was stripped to the point of not having backup camera, but not many of them were sold.

I don't think it's a huge deal to not have backup camera. I just scope all 3 mirrors. In dash nav is nice to have so you don't have to plug-in and stick a unit on a disc stuck to dash. Then need to put it in glove box or else risk some idiot smashing window to steal a $120 nav unit. I don't use nav too much though.

Is there any difference between the fully loaded versions of 2011 and 2012? it seems that 2012 regular prius doesn't have entune (have to get a c, v or camry for that?). if that is true is there any benefit to the 2012 fully loaded version? (downside is that it has the noisemaker)

For some, a big benefit will be 8-way power adjustable Softex driver's seat in the Four and Five. First power seat in any Prius.

For fully loaded, there is an Advanced technology package available for Four and Five.

In the Four, ATP is bundled with sunroof, and has the hard-disk drive nav with 7" split touchscreen and gets the heads up display and more

No sunroof with Five available, but it gets the 17" wheels and LED headlights.

and more, but that's the gist of it.

Why don't you think the 2012 hatchback will have Entune? The press release says Entune will be on the Three and above...

2012 Prius 3 and up has Entune. And the noisemaker is a non issue; far from being a downside.

The 2 will have the basic display audio, with a 6.1" touch screen. There will be no backup camera, apps, navigation or entune. This is basically the same unit Toyota is using on the 2012 Camry LE.

Danny's information on the 2012 Prius was dated in August 2011, the latest update I have is dated Dec 16th. Toyota made some changes since then. Likely due to price.

Toyota won't change their website until the 2012 begins to arrive at the dealerships. All avaliable 2011 models will either be at the dealerships or distributors. There are still a few on ships. Currently all the factories are producing will be 2012 models.

As stated before entune will be standard on all Prius models except for the 2.

Don't know if you can still order. I'll bet the 2012's start coming in before they change the website.

More importantly, will there be a Plus package with the 2012?

Around January 3rd I wrote Toyota via their website pointing out that although it was now 2012 they still had the 2011 information up. I also mentioned my dealer didn't have anyting either. After a reply telling me how important my query was they finally sent me a response telling me the regular Prius would be released in mid January, to contact my dealer, and here is a press release. Here is their reply:

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., and thank you for your interest in the 2012 Prius!

Our research shows the 2012 Prius will be launched in mid January 2012. Additionally, further information regarding the Prius can be found by clicking on the following link: http://pressroom.toyota.com/releases/toyota+prices+2012+rav4+suv+prius.htm
