That was my guess regarding the sale...though there was an 18 day difference between original deal and mine. With the only add-ons being carpet matts and toyoguard elite (does that seem plausible to the sticker - or do you think there has to be something else.) Tint was done by a dealer before this vehicle was traded to my selling dealer (and prior to the deal that fell through)
If there was a previous deal that fell through it is entirely possible that they had ordered some sort of at dealer add-on that was going to qualify for the sticker and started the work before the deal fell through. For instance, if they ordered an after market stiffener or anti-sway bar and started the install, the sticker may have been applied. Then when they backed out the deal, they removed the after market parts.
Possible I guess, but not sure that would have gotten the SET sticker...Thinking I need to request they order the window sticker for me...
Dealer adds are not required to have the sticker. I suspect that SET added something to the car before it arrived at any dealership. The original maroney should shed some light on the subject as it is required to list anything SET added. If it doesn't then SET must have added the weight of the Toyoguard package to the payload, which it is not required to do.
Yes, I have on in the same location, funny I didn't notice earlier because of the bright yellow color! I'm going on a diet. [/QUOTE]
I've heard of this, somewhere there is an option that increased weight off stock, I'd not worry about it.
I have the same sticker and my Prius was purchased in the northeast. I believe that the Blu logic, rear floor mat and cargo net, door edge guards, wheel locks and similar accessories that were on my factory window sticker were installed at the port. Therefore the sticker was put on the door as a CYA. I doubt 10 lbs was added.
Thanks to ToyotaFleetManager for providing objective, insider info to this thread. Practically speaking, I can't see where the small weight that may have accompanied port originated add-on makes any difference in the usable load carrying capacity. I suspect that many Prius owners carry more than an additional 10 lbs. as the result of bringing their car up to their personal standards. That might include; seat covers, a small electric tire pump, perhaps wheel blocks (the owners manual says you should use them when changing a tire), ice scraper, squeegee, glass cleaner, etc, etc. I for one haven't considered any adverse effects on load carrying capacity -- or FE for that matter -- of carry such weights... but of course I should.
Somebody had already installed a remote starter and rear bumper sticker before my dealer found MY Prius sitting on the docs. My two options were to keep the extras at invoice price, or have the remote starter removed and save $320. I wanted a loaded Prius v and I got one. It even has one of those little yellow stickers. Note the printed zero for the weight added on the sticker. Also check out how golden the clear sky metallic color looks under the fluorescent garage lights.
Chazz8 I see drivers village Burdick Toyota in the background. Funny that they placed the sticker but with no capacity change?
Yes, yes it is Driver's Village Burdick Toyota in the background, and as a sticker on the back of my Prius v. I think the sticker may have been applied on the docks where they installed a remote starter and bumper sticker. I find it interesting that it had a printed zero on it.
