Hello. I just joined now. I've been a Prius owner since when the first generation was introduced in U.S. When no one knew about Prius and everyone got amazed when they rode in my car. I had that car for 8 years and traded in for 40% of how much I bought it brand new. Amazing resale value. I did not own the 2nd gen Prius, but I had one for a rental car once. My mother has 3rd Gen Prius and I drive it a several times a month. And now, I'm a happy owner of Prius V Three. Even though it's rated as low 40's MPG, I got average of 53 MPG over the first 1000 miles. I'm amazed as I was getting around 45 MPG on much smaller 1st gen Prius. Its gotten so much better in 10 years.

Welcome to the 3rd Generation! Congrats on your ability to get 53mpg. That is very impressive. I am constantly surprised when someone mentioned the EPA mpg for my GenII. Although it is rated at 48/45 I can average 52-55mpg with a bit of careful driving or even 60mpg if I really try hard. Like you, I really like the GenIIIs. They don't appear to suffer from a mpg drop as bad as the GenIIs when upsizing the wheels.
