Noticed an interesting sticker on my 2012 Prius V Package 5 (No ATP). It appears that SET (South East Toyota did something to modify the vehicle). According to what I know, the only options on the car is toyoguard elite, carpet mats, and dealer added window tint...other than the upcharge for the blizzard white pearl.

Anyone have any idea what this is about? (Final vin#'s concealed)

    Interesting.

You are going to have to ask the dealership.

If you are "sure" those are the only modifications? Then I can't imagine any of them reducing load capacity.

Over the internet and without the ability to tangibly evaluate your vehicle I'd have no idea.

If you have the window sticker, I'd double check and see if there is any other dealer modifications/additions you have missed.

And once again? I'd simply call and ask.

Is there an after-factory undercoat or rustproofing added to all SET cars?

You didn't get the window sticker with your car? I've always gotten mine, but then, I've always bought Hondas. Can't recall if I had to ask for it, because it's been almost six years since I bought my CR-V.

In this case they didn't have the sticker...which was just the beginning of the issues.

Sounds like the dealership is in violation of this law:

The Monroney sticker is required to be affixed to the side window or windshield of every new car sold in the United States and can only be removed by the consumer (Chapter 28, Sections 1231-1233, Title 15 of the United States Code). A fine of up to US$10,000 per vehicle plus one year in jail for each offense is authorized if the sticker is missing. The act does not apply to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 8500 pounds (3856 kg).
The sticker must include the following information:

Most likely, the carpet mats added about 10 lbs so that was subtracted form the rated load capacity.

Seems possible, just odd that the sticker was added, never seen anything quite like it.

Stop filling the fuel tank a gallon and a half or so before it's full, and you'll be fine.

The sticker is added to vehicles that have any port added options to the vehicle that adds weight to the vehicle that didn't come from the factory. SET and GST are independent distributors and frequently port installed options adds a bit of weight to the vehicle, i.e. foglights, body side molding, mudguards, trim packages and such. As such law requires the weight of the items added to be deducted from the payload weight of the vehicle. That labeled was required to be added in the last 2 or 3 years.

Items added by the dealer does not have to have that label. Items added to the vehicle before the vehicle is delivered to a dealer has to have that label. Removable items i.e. floormats and such does not require the label.

If you don't get the original window sticker, usual means you are not the first registered owner.

The Maroney sticker should have been delivered with your new vehicle. That said, there are occassion where the original Maroney sticker may have been removed, such as dealer added window treatment such as window tint, glass etching or such. However the dealer should have provided you the original sticker at the time of delivery. In your case you stated that you had the dealer add window tinting, that is likely why it was removed from the side glass, but the dealer should have put the maroney somewhere in your vehicle or given it to you at the time of delivery.

Here's what happened in a nutshell:

Purchased vehicle, window sticker missing. (offered to order it - assumed lost during tinting.) Later find my entune date is off by 18 days. Dealership, SET start trying to find out what happened. Vehicle reported to Toyota as sold last day of a month, deal fell through. Never titled. Dealership fixed entunte, XM, and warranty. Provided a small token of appreciation for patience.

If matts don't qualify for the sticker - now I'm really wondering what would...

Very likely your dealer reported it sold to Toyota and SET on the last day of the month to either get the V out of their inventory to earn additional allocation or to reach their objective number for that month. Then when they sold it to you they reversed the sale.

It sounds like SET added something to the V before it arrived at the dealer, it may have been something minor. It is also something that may significantly less than the weight on the label as the label is required if it is more than 1lb and less than 10 lbs and with different weights listed on the label if the distributor added things like running boards, different wheels, and such that can effect the actual gross payload.
